As a TH8 the difference compared to a TH9 is too much. The amount of extra defence th9 gets makes it near impossible to raid a th9 when your th8 and below. While at th8 thats when you need to save a lot for the upgrades but th9 and above just raid you making it impossible to upgrade anything...

The loot penalty is too little. When a th8 needs to save for the bigger upgrades, a th9 or above can still walk away with 300k each raid, making the bigger upgrades almost impossible.Quote:

I agree with sandal. When I hit TH9 in like 3.5 weeks, I will MISS TH8's gold farming. Trust me it's harder as a TH9.
The early part of any new TH level is hard, you are an easy target for those of your TH level who mave maxed their troops, or +1 TH level.
I'm near the end of TH8, and not just raiding TH9 but my preference is raiding TH10 for the 50% bonus. Earlier on, I don't quite remember much but I do know I saved 6M for level 3 pekka by farming around 2000 trophies, in a few sessions, by picking on soft TH9 and TH10.
My advice is to raid as often as you can, then ride out your shield. That way, you only suffer one loss, compared to a number of wins. You can't fail but to make profit that way. Also, keep your collectors as empty as possible - a TH9 should only get about 200k from you max, assuming you're storing 1M+, anything more and they got you with quite full collectors which is a bit of a waste.
I don't see anything wrong with TH 8's attempting to raid TH 9's. I use to raid TH 9's that were weak with good success, it's the TH 9's that were somewhat fully upgraded that I just plain avoided. Most of the time I found myself raiding TH 8's and 7's with the occasional TH 6. Don't hesitate raiding TH 6 with over 100k loot, those are always nice to find. Just keep raiding and don't worry too much for TH 9's.

TH8 is AWESOME to get DE. Really!
- 50% bonus when lightning DE storage of TH10. Let's say you get 1k DE from lightning a TH10 holding 40k DE or more.
- 50% penalty when TH10 revenges you. If you have around 20k DE, the TH10 can get at most 500 DE from you.
And I'm not talking about the 350k gold raids you can get from premie TH10. At TH9 this decreases to 220k.
Once you reach TH9, you can't hide behind the loot penalty anymore. Enjoy it while you can =)
I have a maxed th9 and th8, I'd have to agree that th9's do have an unfair advantage in attacking. The defences at th8 aren't enough to keep your loot against th9 troops
And a TH8 can't wreck a TH7? Or a TH7 to a TH6 ect, that's what this game is all about.Quote:

As a TH 8 you raid same level townhalls or lower. This games makes the strong prey on the weak but who says that the "weak" can't fight back?
If you have max walls, def and troops attackers will think twice on raiding you.
When I was still TH 8, if a 9 robbed me of DE, I checked to see if he had anything worthwhile to steal. If he had high DE or gold I would gowipe and steal back via revenge.
Pricey? Yes. Would it dent his resources? Not really.
It would make him think twice to raid a TH 8 and of course the satisfaction you get from getting even.

Well, you should first of all be BARCHing for collector raids at around 1200-1600 trophies. It seems like you must be at least 2000+ trophies, if all you can find is TH 9's. Drop some trophies. Also it is not that hard to get 50% on a TH 9 with a collector raid when you are going for the collectors ouside.Quote:
