Right, we all know it's not supported by Hay Day etc but i just wondered what the etiquette was? Ive heard 2 different things so wondered what the general consensus was and what was "right".
Does the higher level player purchase from the lower level player first or the other way about?
I just wanna make sure im doing things right LOL

I've done a few trades now. In every trade I've been the lower level. But I've gone first and second. So I think it's just an individual choice. Pretty much up to the person who initiated the trade.
Personally I don't care, but would be nice if we (as a community) could decide on one or the other so it takes some of the guesswork out of the whole thing.
I think the rationale for higher level buying first is that higher level = more reliable and therefore less chance that the player could buy the items and then refuse to complete the trade by putting up their items.
Yeah I suppose i get that. I often go back and look at the post count before agreeing a trade I must admit. I've been quite lucky in that most of the trades i've done have been with people that post regularly on the forum so I suppose thats maybe why its been quite trusting either way.Quote:

in another game i used to play (*cough pet society cough*) trading was abundant there, and so was a lot of ripping off. The system that came out from there was everytime theres a successful trade, both players will visit each other profile and leave a "thank you" message on their visitor message page. (theres such thing for SC forum here too because they uses the same forum coding)
So, whoever with higher visitor messages will trade first, irregardless of levels (because hey, high levels can be rippers too shrug) They also use this system as a measure to value "safe traders".
can be adopted to this game imo.
This is a great thread to discuss this- but I do ask that we not mess it up with any trading offers (which hasn't been done yet) or it may have to be closed.
I hate to say it- but when I was new to trading even though I had a very high post count - I would offer to sell first regardless. But- now that I have done it more often- I would probably ask someone with a lower post count if I could buy first. This is just my opinion though.
And yes- it would be very nice if some sort of secure trading/bartering/gifting system could be added in game- it is one of the most highly requested features.
I do a lot of trading. I prefer to buy first (regardless of level) for the first trade or two. I usually bring this up in the negotiation. Once a trusted trade relationship is established, then I don't mind selling first.
If I see someone regularly in the trading forum then I don't usually mind following the higher level first (even if we have never traded) because they are experienced traders. This works for me.
Gifting would be a really good measure to trade. You can just go to the players farm and drop the items on their doorstep. Thus eliminating the chance that the item(s)might actually be bought by another person. And if its ever implemented, please let us gift in bulk! Would suck so bad if i have to gift 10 popcorn for example 1 by 1.
I would love to help more strangers on dd through gifting have it not been i am really paranoid about getting raided. Call me weird i dont care i am just oc. But able to gift them and drop a thank you note cause i bought something would be cool. I would just love to have that kind of "secret" santa ability as long as they cant visit my farm after i gift them.
