Trading

Right, we all know it's not supported by Hay Day etc but i just wondered what the etiquette was? Ive heard 2 different things so wondered what the general consensus was and what was "right".

Does the higher level player purchase from the lower level player first or the other way about?

I just wanna make sure im doing things right LOL

I've done about a dozen trades and in every case it's been higher level buys first.

I've done a few too now and in the first few it was lower level (i.e me) buying first.

it was just in my last trade the person said that it was normally the higher level who buys first so hence me wondering what the actual etiquette was. Doesn't really bother me either way

I've done a few trades now. In every trade I've been the lower level. But I've gone first and second. So I think it's just an individual choice. Pretty much up to the person who initiated the trade.

Personally I don't care, but would be nice if we (as a community) could decide on one or the other so it takes some of the guesswork out of the whole thing.

I think the rationale for higher level buying first is that higher level = more reliable and therefore less chance that the player could buy the items and then refuse to complete the trade by putting up their items.

Yeah I suppose i get that. I often go back and look at the post count before agreeing a trade I must admit. I've been quite lucky in that most of the trades i've done have been with people that post regularly on the forum so I suppose thats maybe why its been quite trusting either way.

I completely agree with this. I also look at post count. I'm even hesitant to add someone from the "Add Me" thread if they've only posted once or twice. Many that I have added that only had 1 or 2 posts ended up quitting the game, so was I ended up removing them not long after adding them. Just frustrating. So I don't have much confidence in people wanting to trade who haven't posted much. They wouldn't have too much incentive to follow through on the trade if I put my stuff out first.

So wonder if we should change it to "Lower post count goes first"? :confused:
