Hogs are way Too Strong now

Supercell,

I have been playing Clash of Clans since January, and spent many hours attacking and upgrading my defense and walls. I have been in the same clan since February(clashdatass), and 98% of the members in our clan are legitimate players that don't spend much money on gems, but have amazing bases. I want to let you know that Clash of Clans is the most brilliant game I have ever played, and I thoroughly enjoy the genius behind the game. I truly love the game, and want it to succeed. I have created over 70 base designs in clashofclansbuilder.com, to share my knowledge and experience of base design with others, so I hope that you will take my concerns here seriously, and know that I am not just here to complain.

We just started our most recent trophy run a few days ago, and it has become very evident that the recent Hog update was extremely overdone. Most of the players in our clan have maxed level 9 town halls, and a few of us have level 10 town halls. A pack of Hog Riders should not be able to tear through a maxed level 9 town hall in 50 seconds for 100% and 3 stars. There is no defense to withstand these attacks. I haven't seen many attacks on level 10 town halls, but I am guessing the result is fairly similar to the attacks I have seen on TH9.

It is frustrating to spend months and months upgrading walls and defenses legitimately, just to have an overdone troop update like this. I hope that others have expressed their concerns, and you guys will adjust the hogs back to a normal, but reasonable level.

99% is 48 people in the clan ;)

Hog riders do not need to be nerfed like the witches were. Unlike after the introduction of witches, I do not find hog riders overwhelming, as bases can turn them into bacon if defenses are placed well and/or if the hogs are deployed using a "drop and pray" strategy.

Traps are crucial, and hogs are defendable.

what level are you, and what is your trophy count? Have you been attacked by 40 max level hogs? Nevermind, I see that you are lvl114. Post some of your defenses so we can learn. And I just checked out your completely maxed base. So it is possible that you are beating the hogs, but not by much I would guess. And a post of a defense from you will not help the majority of us, because we will never have maxed bases.

. .Dont bother complaining, Supercell won't listen to you, they'll simply ban you for teasing them about just another mistake they've released. A 40 Hog attack is defendable, it's that they're being paired up with a golem, 4 healing spells (lightning/rage spell), ridiculous level heroes, either a few minions/barbs/archers/wiz to roam your defenceless base after the hogs have walked through it. That's whats being used, the only way I find to defend against these armies is to pray that the attacker doesn't have hogs. So to you level 80s trying to farm your level 7 walls and level 6 archer towers, please, don't say that placing bombs and spring traps in the right places will win, they can enter your base from literally any point. Hogs themselves aren't OP, it's when used with rage or heal spells that they become god like and indestructible. Instead of lowering their attributes, how about making it that the spells do the opposite to them than what they're supposed to. -Rage decreases damage and movement speed. -Heal damages the hogs 1/4 of what the total heal for the level is. Eg lv1 heal does 40x, when dropped on hogs it damages them 10x. -Lightning damages them as it would castle troops.-Freeze freezes the hogs for 1/4 of the time it freezes the defences for.-Jump makes them unable to jump..This way, hogs can't be sent into an infinite health, defence targeting, wall jumping, building bashing machine.Ive tried editing it so it isn't a wall of letters.. But it keeps reverting back.

Level 114 (as you mentioned in your post) and cup count is currently 3207 and I have been in the 3200/3300 neighbourhood for about a month. I have been attacked by 40+ hogs several times since the update.

No idea how to replay attacks or defenses outside the game environment. Sorry.

I agree with you Iron. Great points!

This is why they are adding LV8 MORTARS

With the right base they can be destroyed quite easily. Supercell will eventually nerf them or bring out another defence to counter the hogs.

Level 8 mortar, lets say 1 or 2 dps extra? Thats either 5 or 10 damage extra it will do, this gets healed by the heal spell near instantly. This is not a fix for on hogs being OP, but only another defence to be farmed.

Ok so lets say they neuter the hogs, now what? You guys gonna cry about balloons and minion/ next? I've got this feeling that no matter what soupy salad does somebody's gonna complain.

Right base can be destroyed easily I assume you mean? If so, this is correct. Have your defences close together - heal spells heal all the damage done from your dead defences. Have your defences far apart, the groups of hogs walk your base knocking over every defence with a touch of their hammer.But I think you can hogs can be destroyed quite easily, which partly true, if you are defending against person without limbs. You must have either formed your opinion by defending low level hogs or watching a youtube video in which the limbless villain strikes. Healing hogs are OP, yet supercell haven't done anything about it. Most businesses look towards fixing problems - especially ones they created. But no, Supercell must think its fine to release a godlike troop between average troops. Whoever goes through with these ideas, please fire them. They've brought down the enjoyment level of the game which has made countless players quit. To the new developers, please go to an original developer's house and give them your job. You are not worthy of ruining a game which was fun before you came and unenjoyable once you started 'upgrading' the game.

Not really, there's tactic, you go to a battle with 40 hogs and just dump them, you wil lfail with less than 25 %

I might be wrong but I might be right, everybody was complaining that witch was too strong and she got nerfed. I assume the hogriders will be nerfed too. (Don't flame me if I'm wrong :p)

Not sure what you're talking about... Supercell is one of the companies that are great at listening to their customers, think about all the other OP units, witches, golems, dragons. Supercell have added something to nerf each of them.

As lng as there are stupid gemmers like the nolifers in kings landing, then they will just gem witches nad golems n pekkas and stay at the top like stupid little nolifers that work at mcdonalds and live in an apartment and have no wife or girlfriend.

Surely you must be joking? They have stuffed up so many things so many times, but there were ways to bypass it. This however is only resistible for 12/16 hours, until it's time for another loss.

Dude, your other thread got closed, don't just post another completely irrelevant pointless rage comment like this on a thread about hogs. You can't make wild assumptions towards people that gem like this, and no one will be on your side when you act immature like this.

They are OP, as long as the attacker lures and kills cc troops first any max hog attack with 30-40 hogs will win. Cc troops is your only chance imo, and most are smart enough to lure them. They need to be weakened.

Waaay overpowered. Hogs+heal spells, maybe a Golem to tank and forget it your base is crushed. In masters all I get attacked by are maxed out hog armies. It's getting old.

And for those that say all you need is a good base layout, please, post a pic of a layout that is supposedly fending off hog attacks. Thanks

Supercell don't change anything about the new hogrider, they are perfect troop now, at least they give a chance to win again the strongest village, i have a TH lev 10 and only once in the game i get 100% dammage with 48 hogrider level max, well it make me want get them, im working on upgrading them, instead of complain about them, use them for win ;)

I'm in the 3200 trophy range and 9/10 Hog attacks on my base simply fail, often with <40%. And yes, they use Lv40 Heroes ,4 Healing Spells, their cc and min 40 hogs. It's only a matter of base design ,set traps, filled cc and of course heroes alive.

Lol it's only a matter of base design.......I'm assuming at 3200 range your base is maxed out. So ya there is a little more to it then base design.

It is actually maxed, but previously i had another layout and got whiped out by hogs all the time. Then i changed it and now -wonder wonder- they all fail.

Like I posted earlier, a screenshot of your base layout would be helpful. I have tried many different layouts and it hasn't seemed to make much difference for me against hogs.

Hogs are NOT for strong! Make a better base to slow down theirs damage!

- Remember, them there make just 20 Hogs for an attack, it's cost them over 1000 Dark Elexir every attack (for lvl 5) so it's a lot of! If you got attacked by 2 lvl 1 Golems and a Witch or 20 Hogs! It's the same, it cost over 1000 Dark Elexir too!

So Hogs are NOT for strong!

1000 dark elixir is nothing, they can find 2-5 k de bases at 2400+ quite often. Hogs are over powered.

Yeah, but in 2400+ is it the same if people attack with Dragons, Golems and Pekkas or 40 Hogs, they are likes so strong

Let me say it again. I don't have trouble defending against Dragons, Golems or Pekkas. Yes sometimes these troops can defeat me, but at least it is a fair fight! Max level Hogs on the other paired with 5 healing spells is pretty much a garunteed victory.

Please don't comment on something you haven't experienced first hand. If you check my defense log it is nearly exclusively filled with Hog attacks.


If hogs aren't nerfed in this update you better believe I'm jumping on the hog wagon and maxing them out.

Exactly, the only troops im losing to is mass max hog. Only times i win is if they don't lure cc troops (stupid attacker). I usually win against gowipe and mass drag on the other hand though.

It just requires no skill whatsoever to use hogs. well, if some players are happy this way let them be. I can get my loot back in a single raid anyway. without hogs.

please don't talk nonsense. there are a ton of other troop combo that require some sort of skill like choosing deployment region, amount of troops deployed, combination of spells etc. hogs can just be spammed and that's it.

Yeah I'm sure at TH7 you have tons of experience getting attacked by mass hogs.

Well it turns out Supercell knew all along the hogs were to overpowering. 4% reduction isn't much, but I am sure it will help a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if the hogs got hit again if they find that they are too strong between this update and the next one. I would expect them to adjust their power little by little to get a balanced troop instead of what we have been dealing with.

I know this is an old thread, i created an account purely to reply to the above quote, but really IronBranches, what are you thinking...? The idea of using spells is to gain an advantage over your opponent, not to hinder yourself!! Don't get me wrong i hate how OP they are still & that's how i stumbled across this thread, but why in the world would anyone drop a spell on their own troops if it is going to hurt them!!?? You really make not one bit of sense with that comment and are delusional if you think the supercell team will even give your idea a thought let alone a second glance... Also why am I the first person to call you on such a fail!?! The only thing that even comes close to making sense is if you meant, for instance, a heal spell would still heal hogs, but would heal them say 10% less than other troops. If this is what you meant please go and relearn the English language and slap the teachers and people who raised you to speak this way..

Defending hogs are expensive , all out hog attack cost me 100k+ to re arm traps lol
