I have also done this. To me it doesn't matter whether I fill my own boat or someone else's crates. My captain achievements are all done and I'm at the point where I'd rather fill my truck orders...I still have my trucking achievements to do, but don't want to attempt it until I have a bigger barn, lol, so I help with what I can on other boats. Though, I have to say, I need the tickets so I really SHOULD be filling my own boats. I guess. lol.Quote:

I am always short of sugar and cream, have 8 slots each which run almost all around the clock. Do you use Tom to add stock, or what is your strategy to always being ahead so much that you can donate sugar and dairies?
Cheeses and sirup are almost impossible for me, have to plan that far ahead. Could you advice please?

I do use Tom, usually for the stuff that takes so long to make, or for items that I can't make because I don't have the machine yet. I'll load the machines I DO have to replenish any small stock, but I usually have him go look and if I get a good price I'll buy it to use for my boats. For popcorn, dairy and sugar, I've been casting off my own boats. What usually happens is that I have enough of those items for 1 or maybe 2 crates, but wouldn't be able to fill them all...in that case I'll help a neighbor before I'll try to do my own boat, lol.
using tom to buy sugars are a waste of time for tom usage. Always get him to buy good stuff.Quote:

if you have ever worked in a place that requires to control inventory and do stock takes, it is the same principles.
i set my inventory par for dairy goods except goat cheese all to 30 at the moment. So more than 5 i clear less than 5 i restock. I never have less than 25 of these items in my barn. But this is scaled to my barn size.
And i only have 4 slots each on my dairy and sugar machines.

I ask for help on dairy and sugar and I also fill those items for others. I'm new to this forum. Just found it maybe a week ago and only recently after reading posts have learned that I can send my boat away w/o filling it and I'm lvl 55. So my guess is that there are a number if other players who don't know you can send your boat away empty. I've actually waited the 16 hrs to send the boat away when I couldn't fill it with lobster soup recently.

yup I do. Not sure if that is stupid or not since there seems to be a lot of opinions on the right way to play the game. I did not give any thought on which crates to ask for help other than the fact that I would not likely be able to fill them without help. I always check the farms of those who have helped me first before I help any one else just to be sure to show that I am grateful for their help and appreciate it. I try to always keep in mind that this is just a game and not stress about it.

Well, i dont fill sugar and dairy so i cant really comment, but with the method i described, yes its a never ending production of premiums because you will never run out of dairy and sugar.Quote:
