Tom

I have seen many opinions scattered out over many threads but it's so spread out I wanted to ask in one thread. I should have done a poll I guess. But...

Do you prefer Tom to stay the way he is now always bringing 9 items and having to wait 2 hours if you don't take his options.

OR

Do do you want him fixed to the way he operated before the update.

I like always having 9 items but personally I prefer the way he was before the update. I liked the 2 minute wait as I often change my mind after the initial send off. Especially since it takes him so long to make the run. To much time to reconsider my original request I guess. The chance on him coming back with 7 items doesn't outweigh a 2 minute wait for me.

I prefer the 9 item Tom. I am more likely to purchase him now, knowing it won't be a HUGE time waster every time he brings back 7....

He's much better now. I can't understand why the lower offers are even offered. Who would want to take less of an item they are after?

I like him now.

i think when I was a new farmer, I could only afford the fewer amounts, so I would take the lower offers. Or, I did not know any better.

I have a baby farm going on my old phone for refreshing my memory on things like this, but I am not at the free Tom trial level yet.

I'll go with something in between...just 8 or 9 offered, no 7. I would always take the 8, but never the 7.

I don't even have to check. Box #3 has 9 items. Not 8, not 7
If I wanted lesser items I could choose one of the other 2 options.

And If I have paid diamonds for him I certainly want as much as he can bring.

The Tom we have now -- DEFINITELY!!

At this point in the evolution of the game, I see no reason to have Tom offer anything other than 9 items. I imagine that when SC first developed him, the options made sense. (Do I remember him offering as few as 4 items a long while back?) Originally, the options may have been a meaningful part of the resource management model rewarding those who paid attention to detail and logged in frequently.

As I read it, here are the excuses for offering less than the maximum:

• New farmers who may not have been able to afford 9 of the item
• Those of us who didn't pay attention to item price and hadn't figured out that buying things from Tom was always a bargain (same folks who maybe assumed that the Daily Deal in the newspaper really is a bargain)
• Encourage sticking around--or coming back every two minutes--to get a better offer

At this point, there are plenty of other features that require decision-making. Dealing with Tom's options is just annoying. There is plenty of drama and adrenaline involved in trying to get the most out of the time he on the payroll.

For those who change their minds after sending him on his initial run, he could still come back and offer a choice of accepting or rejecting what he brought.
