Headaches

Dear SC team,

just wanted to ask if you are listening to us who get headaches and nausea from the information overflow caused by the avatars shown in the shops?

It would be highly appreciated if you could publish a statement and announce if this feature will remain or will be changed back again? Did you consult medical specialists regarding the reported health problems which are caused by this feature or at least do you intend to do so?

LOL. Oh my, that's a good one!

If I was getting continual headaches and nausea I would stop playing...?? Which "reported health problems" btw...??? Can you point us in the right direction to read about this issue...

I have not heard of this specific problem before. I am aware that watching a screen such as TV, monitor or tablet may give increased chance of headaches, and it must be difficult on the small screen of a phone but I would take a break if I was suffering and if it was really bad and I knew that playing my game was causing it, I would stop altogether. Can you give us some further info or advise where we may look up the problem ourselves.

on the issue of avatars on sales in roadside shops, I thought this was SC's response to the complaints about some sales items being 'fictitious'- not there in the first place, well now we can see that some-one else was quicker than we were and beat us to the item. I also think that it makes players think about sharing more as it is very apparent when faced with a shop full of one avatar/image, that the person had been greedy and the evidence is there for everyone to see.

Very well put Flijo. I do wonder sometimes whether people are leaving avatars up in the shops just to illustrate your last point. I also find it interesting when shopping in my friends shops to see which friends we share, and who is friends with whom.

I have no problem with the avatars in shops, but do get confuddled when I accidentally hit the 'frens' piggie and connect to Facebook, thereby getting pictures in the DD. That I do find immensely distracting, so sympathise with the OP if she is having the same sort of problem with avatars.

yes, I unfortunately have to stop playing every now and then, even had to take an almost two days break shortly after the update. Working with computers etc since almost 30 years, being long hours on the internet incl. Secondlife etc pp has never ever caused such severe side effects as the cluttered avatar stalls do. I would really appreciate a feedback from SC if they take the reports for serious or not, which will give me a valuable insight about their policy and goals.

in case the avatar thingy is just to prove that their programmers have fixed the newspaper: well done, got the message. No need to prove any further ;)

I could really do without the avatars...they make it slow to even load a person's roadside shop! I've accidentally bought several things because of lag. I don't mind buying things....I just don't have the barn space! Gotta go unload to go back to shopping. :p

I know staring at a computer/monitor screen for long periods can cause eye strain, which could cause headaches, (my sister-in-law the optometrist is constantly telling my son and me this:rolleyes:).

Also if anyone has epilepsy/seizure disorder, flashing lights or anything that blinks/flashes very fast can bring on a seizure.

There are rules and regulations regarding workplace assessments for computer workstations, various risk assessments, etc, etc, and no doubt the same thing applies to playing games for long periods... Take regular breaks is the easy answer... lol. Me and the missus are ex (specialist) teachers, and we know all about IOSH, NEBOSH, COSHH, RISK ASSESSMENTS, WORKPLACE ASSESSMENTS, etc... Anyone looking for specialist advice, consult the HSE website, because there is reams and reams of info available from here, but be warned, the last time I had reason to visit, there was about 40,000 pages...!!! SC as responsible developers, should have some instructions, warnings, or preventative measures in place somewhere, similar to the instruction booklets which accompany other format games...??? Standard reading for most of us...???
