You guys are SO stubborn. You would not kill the games economy. People who gem finish their buildings fast and then they can upgrade their walls. How come there not destroying the economy? This economy talk is stupid. It would not ruin the game if builders were not required to upgrade walls.
I remember when the game didn't require builder to upgrade walls. Whenever we had enough resources , we would upgrade the walls and loose all the resources , thus not sitting like bulky storage-filled bases. The loot was not good and unstable. Don't bring this back.
