I think it would be cool to build a colony of silkworms, with similar mechanics to the beehive. Just as we harvest honeycomb from the bees to make either honey or beeswax, we can harvest raw silk from the silkworms from which we can produce either silk thread or silk fabric.
Some of the items we could make with silk:
Handbags
Bowties
Kimonos or other types of robes
Pillowcases
Fancy dresses
This has been asked for a few times since I joined the forums. Honestly, I think worms are a bit gross!
A similar suggestion (to bees) is a nut tree and squirrels that run back and forth collecting. That one I like. A LOT!
