if the hogs have to be nerfed...

I am not necessarily saying they need it, but there seems to be growing pressure from others, and I can only speak for what I see at my level...

There have been complaints that even maxed-out bases are vulnerable to hordes of hog-riders. So Supercell, if you decide that they do need their powers limited, instead of reducing their speed or hitpoints, or adding extra springtraps, please consider the following suggestion (also buried in another thread):

For each level of hog, define the level of wall that they can jump, perhaps as follows:
level1 - can clear walls level 1-3
for each subsequent level, allow them to clear one greater wall level so that...
level5 - can clear walls level 1-8

This will then reward wall-builders and encourage further 'investment' in walls (a significant earner from the game) and will address the apparent overpowered nature of the troop against very strong bases. It will also make people think more when they raid with hogs and will allow more subtle strategies to develop, together with evolved base designs.

Most of us have level 1 hogs. I like to use them now and then because they jump walls. WHY would i attack someone with level 3 walls!!!! Nobody has level 3 walls making the level 1 hog useless. Well not usless just hell be like a normal troop.

possibly the levels need tuning but it's the principle I care about ;)

Have level 1 hogs jump from 1-5, level 2 1-6 level 3 1-7 level 4 1-8 level 5 1-11.

They shouldn't be able to jump level 10-11 walls

Don't nerf them. Add a counter defense.

No one troop deserves/needs/should need a specific defense just to stop it

I just think it's weak that troops keep getting nerfed. It should be countered with defense. High level troops should be powerful.

This is actually a pretty good idea.

I like this idea but level 5 hogs should be able to jump all walls- level4 not lvl9-11 and level 3 only lvl1-7 walls.

YOU Realize we get the Dark Elixir Barracks at lvl 7 TownHall Right! Also when you nerf HogsRiders get ready for the witches COMEBACK

Once again, may I point out that hogs on their own are conquerable. It's when they get used with 4 healing spells and a rage or lightning that they because unstoppable. Let them jump walls, double walls, hell let them jump all your walls, just don't give them the effects that spells give, thats all the nerf has to be.

People unlock hogs at town hall 7.
You expect them to use it on players with level 3 walls?
Also, note that low level hogs aren't really much of a threat.
Their low hp gets them killed so much faster

Hogs are strong, there's no doubt.
But with a good base design - defences spread around and not all cluttered, and some cc troops, full hogs will get killed easily.
They aim for defences - so people should use that to their advantage.

I've been hit twice with max level hogs. Both times, I lost most of my base. However, I'm TH9, don't have maxed defenses, and of course no infernos or third xbow. I would expect that a good TH10, or even a mxed TH9, should be able to defeat them. Just have your wiz towers and teslas and xbows and so on clustered fairly close together, and/or place spring traps around the defenses closer to the center.

The issue is not with their ability to loot bases, therefore, it's that players build spread-out bases and then cry about getting one-starred easily. Reality check - 99.9% of the player population isn't over 3500 trophies, and we really don't care. Hogs are no worse than full dragons, or golems with witches, or golems with wizards, or whatever. Maxed high-level troops are going to faceroll almost all players, period. And one-star even TH10. The answer is not to nerf every new troop to ♥♥♥♥ after giving the gemmers a few weeks to play with them first at full power (since they get them on patch day).

I currently have something like 180K DE, after maxing minions and bringing golem to level 2 or 3. I would like to be able to start upgrading hog riders without worrying about them being nerfed back to mediocrity around the time I get to the last upgrade. Either leave hogs alone, or reduce the respawn time increase for AQ and BK so it's worth upgrading them when you aren't a gemmer, or make golems partially resistant to inferno towers.
