Well..... At the beginning I thought, "this is gonna be cake," boy was I wrong. The trials are in place to make you a better CoC player. I had been a casual player who that I was pretty decent at the game, but then I seen some of the raids and defenses that people in the clan were posting and was amazing. I breezed through a few of the trials but other had me stuck on for a couple of days, but in the end with the advice of the elders I was able to break through and finish all 10. The way the elders look out for new members and coach them though "difficult" trails was refreshing to see. Overall, I look forward to advancing with the clan and hope to stick around as long as they'll have me,
Are the trials just for Centum Ludus or all the clans?

We are looking for players to join Centuria. 5 spaces left. You will need to be a good farmer, perhaps needing a little help. Mature over 18 with 4+ builders and strong defences.

So, been in the clan for a few days now and it's been pretty good so far.
The Trials
The trials are very well organized and the elders are always on top of things. Not all the trials are fun (for example, getting a 300+ raid, which seems to be totally luck based) but despite that, they're put together in such a way that will teach you a whole bunch. Definitely learned some tricks and tips that will help in the future. Also learned how to better evaluate based, which is great.
The Community
Still a little confused about how the clans are structured, but overall everyone in the clan is super helpful and donations get filled out really fast. Can't say no to level 3 dragons that torch up would-be bullies! Some bad apples get in from time to time (think the 18+ rule should be enforced more) though most are mature and active.
Having completed rest of my trials, here are my thoughts about the clan:
1) I was looking for socially active clan, and this definitely is one. People are actively donating and elders are always willing to give help and tips about how to proceed with challenges.
2) Trials are a mixed bunch. Some of them are fun to do, but others can be chore. For example, "Don't be average" is mostly about spending time searching for proper target to arrive, not so much about skill itself. I started at very high trophies, so neither "Robin Hood" nor "Into the Dark" gave any problems for me.
Hardest for me was the "Drop 301", learning the proper timing on technique required took quite many tries. Sub-200 was mixed place, I did succeed doing two challenges there but I really prefer to fight higher up.

In conclusion I rate this clan a 10 out of 10. I know it seems cheesy but I haven't found anything wrong with it yet, and I don't think I will. The trials are a challenge but it's all just fun, and I think sometimes people can forget that. I'm proud to be a loyal member of Centum Ludus.

Reaction is a little late, but I decided I want to stay in my clan for the moment now. I have limited time to play on the mondays-fridays, so I think I may lose the fun part of the game, because of the fact I need to be farming etc. Though I will probably sent a new request to join later, in a few months or maybe a little later. I know what you are thinking, "All Clans are the same." I thought that also. The clan I was just in the leader left and started a new clan because he came up with a better name and when I searched that name 30+ clans came up (guess it was a popular name). So I decided to read through some of the threads recruiting for new members and stumbled across a thread for an adult clan that would teach you how to farm. They had a trial system that you had to pass to stay in the clan. Well I tried reading through the post to find out more about the trials. None of the posts actually mentioned what all these trials were so I was skeptical at first but this thread had my attention. First was adults only great I fit in there. Second was a trial system to stay in the clan not the usual you need to donate 1000 troops a week or more to stay.
I decided to apply and find out more about these trials. I was accepted and welcomed. I found out that they are a family of 5 clans all with different levels. I was in the beginner clan for TH7 "Centum Ludus". The elder introduced me to the clan and explained the trial system. I looked at them and was nervous about being able to do what they were asking. They were all encouraging with advice as I would start the next one. Some had advice on base design to what armies worked best for them. I learned that the trials are challenging but not impossible. Then before the week was up (7 days to pass the trials) I completed them.
Using what I had learned during the trials I started farming other bases. I actually went from struggling to get enough gold for that next upgrade to my storages being full all the time. My builders never get a rest they are all working 24/7. My walls are maxed for my TH level. Now I raid for fun, I still look for the best bases to raid but most of the time the gold is wasted. I have no more storage space for it. My builders are busy, the lab is constantly upgrading troops.
So if you are:
1. 18+ and respectful of others
2. Have TH7 with level 5 and 6 walls
3. Have good defenses.
4. And willing to learn and pass on what you have learned.
The "Centum Family" is the place for you.

Five or Six days ago i applied to centum thinking "what the hell, let's see what these guys are about". I had been on a couple clans before, and was not satisfied in any of them. The minute i joined Centum Ludus (one of the five clans in the Centum Family) i was received with a very welcoming atmosphere by members and, specialy, elders. That same day i found about the 10 trials and thought "no way i will be able to complete them". After all, i was nowhere close to farming 1 million gold in an hour (was probably in the 400-500k range), but decided to take a shot at it. After the days passed, i kept receiving hints and tips from the elders in order to increase my farming ratio and to improve the way i was using my troups. After five or six days i finished the trials with a 1.57 million gold grab in an hour (what would seem impossible for me a week ago). I must thanks the Centum Family for all the help in this past week and must say that if you want to be part of a great farming clan with lots of helpfull people, Centum is the place for you!
I joined the clan about 6 days ago. I had searched for a clan here on the forums, and saw this post. As a farmer myself, I thought that this was going to be the clan for me. And damn I be right. I was welcomed and started my trails.
It was going great and i had done most of them but then is saw i had to go to sub 200, which i had never tryed before. I asked if anyone had any tips. I started getting tips from the elders and members, and it ended up being very easy.
I really like the idea of the trails, and i'm very happy that i found this clan!

Ludus trials were a lot of fun to complete. Below is my review of my time doing them.
The good:
- Some trials were decent and kept me on my toes.
- Donations were always prompt
- Received helpful advice about base design, but most advice about farming was stuff I already knew or was skilled enough to do on my own.
- The community feeling is fun to be a part of.
The bad:
- The challenges aren't that challenging, was able to complete in 3 days or so.
- Some clanmates purposefully donated troops that were specifically not asked for which is frustrating.
- Most of the stuff I knew how to do before I joined, so the information wasn't as valuable to me.
The Ugly:
- Sub 200 farming challenges were a huge waste of time. I see how it can help some people, but its not for me.
- The challenges become a a bit of a chore. The unoriginality of the trials shine through making them a bore to complete.
- The gold per hour trial is a bit stupid the way you need to prove it. I dont frequently take screenshots of my game, but when I have a 700k raid and know i still cant count it towards my max because I didnt screenshot before i started is frustrating and should change.
Overall it was a good experience and I thank Ludus for teaching me and helping me improve.

I remember first joining the clan then finding out what the trials were and thinking to myself there is no way I'm going to be able to finish these in 7 days. But with the help of many clan mates and my own knowledge of the game I was able to complete over half of them my first day. If you are thinking of joining I would join the worst that can happen is that you don't complete the trials but the knowledge and experience you gain while doing the trials is what I would say was the best part of the experience for me. Ive currently been in the clan for 2-3 days and I have 2 trials left and one I'm very close to finishing. The trials were an amazing experience in my opinion and everyone should give them a shot.

I have to say when I first joined i thought... Eh The trials are a joke. It will be a cake walk. I will admit that the trials are very good at testing your limits, and pushing you through. I never knew there was so much technique in farming. I remember a time when getting 2.5 million gold was an act of God. I would spend my hard earned gems to boost me up there. But after some training and advise from the clan. I was farming and all of a sudden i had 4.5 million gold and never even realized i was that high. In a week I have already massed over 15 million gold total. All my builders are busy and im worried about losing gold to raids. haha thats a good problem to have in my book. My base is looking formidable. So if you want to learn how to farm, and be apart of a clan family The Centum Group is the way to go. They are very encouraging, and have a wealth of knowledge.

It's been a fantastic week working through the trials and getting to know the other members. I can't lie, it was rough going at first and a couple of times I questioned my self about what I was doing, but with the help of everyone I was able to get through. I especially liked how patient and helpful all the members were- often times offering multiple tips and techniques for a single challenge. Best part is you wind up on the other side as a much better farmer!

Hey guys, i currently am in a small non-farming clan. It's a good place, but not very active and slow on donations. In the last season I donated 993 troops and only got back around 100. That's why I think it's time to look for a new home. At this moment in time I do not fulfill the builder requirement as I do not intend to spend money on this game. Should this be an issue I will try to reapply once I get my fourth builder.

For now Centuria is the right clan for you until you get 50% skulls. If you have 5 builders then you can join Centurae after that if you like.

You can join Centuria with 4, then if you want to join the next Clan up you will need 5 & 50% skull walls. (We look at wall level first, then TH level then upgrades to determine which Clan you go to). So you could probably do that by getting your Masters gems.Quote:

Testudo is our trophy clan, many players there farm in excess of 8m a day + most have lvl 9 walls, some with over 50 lvl 10 walls
You will have to be exceptional to get in as this is a highly active Clan.
