Precisely why I asked, 'why was it changed?', in the hopes for an explanation, or at least more information. It looks like they have some sort of a plan for a change to the league system.
Which might explain why Darian has remained quite quiet, to be honest I think he must be hating his new job right now. He just started to make some positive inroads to make the playing community feel that SC finally had someone who would be straight with us. And as far as I can tell it looks like they have told him to remain silent. If it was my job I would be standing in front of the board telling them they might as well fire me, if they are not going to let me do what I was employed for.

The problem SC have is, they have become too engrained in their own philosophy of silence, that they can't actually let someone be a community manager without stepping in and silencing them.
This whole episode, starting from when Darian said 'another community manager will release a statement' reeks of corporate 'keep everything secret until it's too late for anyone to stop it' tactics.

All we can hope for is that this time, whatever they are planning it will be beneficial to the players as well, rather than just being beneficial to the bank balance of the owners...

Sorry Ony but I've got to disagree with this and it is rare I'd disagree with you.

Darians job is primarily to improve communciations between the community and SC. He has fallen at the first hurdle.

Yes he has been talking in threads. But we've heard nothing in terms of communications coming from SC. He has been asked about clouds, mm, trophy system etc etc and he gave us a PR speech in reply. Exactly the sort of reply we get from SC.

He then came in on this thread and in his own words had to make an "effort" to apologise. He then told us, as you say, somewhat cryptically, that another CM was going to be giving out information. When he said that I was expecting some sort of reply that day...

We are now 3 days into this without any explanation. The fact that it is weekend has nothing to do with it. Darian, the mods, and other staff still read the forums over this period. I am sure they still communciate with each other over the weekend. They certainly don't all go home Friday at 5pm, shut up shop and then return Mon morning at 9am.

So yes, when a guy is appointed to improve communications and then goes silent within a matter of days of his appointment, then I am afraid we are entitled to call him out on it.

And if SC are the ones silencing him, then more shame on them. What was the point of putting somebody in a job to communicate if they are only going to gag him ?

And even if he has been told not to say anything in terms of why the season was extended, that would not prevent him coming here and saying I want to give you more information guys but the issue is out of my hands currently, please bear with us...". Instead he has passed the buck onto another CM and then disappeared....

I mean really - how hard can it be to tell us why it was extended?? They obviously know - what is with the huge secrecy behind it....

And for what its worth, I am sure this issue will eventually be explained. I am sure Darian will start posting again at some point. I am sure we will all forgive him once he does come out of hiding. All I can say is the sooner the better !

Yup he is pretty pointless at the moment. Nice to get a salary and be told to do nothing I guess :)

What a waste of my gem money😜 Maybe it will get better.

More likely is that he has been stone walled from doing his job

Thank you for the update that has been provided so far, I was alittle sad over it , but whatever, I would like to know what happen, but I can wait, it doesn't ruin my experience

In answer to my question after replying to their message they said " Players will know why when they see something ingame". So probably it is leagues, end of season loot or something along those lines imo
