Because if we are still in the dark about this then Darian you have failed in your job in like the first week or so of taking it up.

So for somebody who has been brought in to improve communications, I am afraid, you fell at the first hurdle. The first sign of SC's introducing something unannounced would've been the prime opportunity for you to earn your bacon. Instead - the the buck has been passed to another CM who has told us diddly squat....
But if I have missed something and there has been an announcement somewhere then pls accept my apologies for the above rant .....if however nothing has been said and we still remain in the dark, then Darian my good man, you're fired !!

I've not seen one post from him where he actually communicates any answer or information which we can say came directly from the mouths of SC.
I am happy for you Daren and your new job! I really do hope that you and SC have a mutually beneficial working relationship going forward. The COC community and the forums in particular are a tough bunch to please. COC has a lot of magic and some great ideas that have made it a huge success and a large part of my life.
As someone with some experience professionally and personally as a project manager and a liaison to users of products in the IT world, I want to highlight something I am sure you already know: DO NOT make commitments that may not be met and DO NOT pass the buck.
Update schmupdate, roll with the punchs. Your devs bomb a small fix like this and "sorry" as well as saying another mod will explain why the season was extended in the first place? I know you can't change the mistake and understand that there was no way to move back from it. Conveying empathy and letting us know that you know how serious this is and that the devs get it too would go a long way. Your continued activity on this thread would have been a great way to do that. I know you can only share what you are allowed to and that when you said someone else would address the season extension I believe you believed that. Obviously this was not followed up on and thus you lost trust even if it wasn't your fault. In hindsight maybe saying that you hope someone from the team can address the community at some point because you know SC wouldn't cause a headache like this without a damn good reason.
I loved SC's PR and marketing back in the day. Great commercials and a feeling like they weren't trying they just were "cool." Now you are trying too hard and failing. In a fast moving gamer world that is all about trends and popularity it is sad to see the communications and marketing for a product I love bomb this bad.
