I noticed that most of the time, the people in the top 10... and top 50.... Have no defenses set up.... The guns are on one side, and the resources on the other....walls all bunched up in the middle, or spelling words....
Is this the way we climb to the top of the leaderboards??
They buy shields all the time. Your likely seeing them when they have a week long shield.
Its all for a joke. If you watch Flammy's interview Jorge said he played for 6 days straight meaning he could not get attacked as he was online. All of the top 50 are practically online all the time meaning they dont really care about defenseQuote:

if you listen to the interview with Jorge he says that he waits an hour or more to find a match at that level....
they're rarely offline and when they are it takes time to find them... even if their found and the whole base is destroyed they only lose 1 maybe 2 trophies... (another note from Jorge's interview)
resources mean very little to them except maybe Elixir :rolleyes:

i think that what their base designs highlights is that when you are shooting for the top 50 it is not a game of being successful in attacking and successful in defending attacks but rather a game of being successful in attacks and being successful in preventing others from being able to attack you.
i believe jorge said he could nearly guarantee a 2 star victory with 11 dragons and 4 lightning spells (without using all the lightning spells all the time). based upon that statement you can theorize that any of the top players when attacked by a proper offense will always get at least 2 stared and a 2 star loss could mean 20+ trophies lost. To make up those 20 trophies lost could take 20 hours (if each match takes an hour to find and and each match is a victory that gets you one trophy).
so in essence the only way to gain trophies at some point is to make sure that nobody can attack you as opposed to making sure your defense always wins (because it can't).
They have a long time to wait between battles (training high level troops and spells), so why not fart around with your base design?
It's their win/lose ratio. Example, he can play 10 battles and wins them all 10, let said he get 100 trophies.when he is log off, with that kind of base he will easily lose 1st battle in defense. so -10 trophies + 12 hrs shield.
When he back on play another 10 battles , that another + 100 trophies then log off, -10 trophies + 12 hrs shield ...you guys get the idea ..
Same ways with TH out of base defensive. only diferent is that ppl try to reduce the lose of supplies as much as possible.
