Please be realistic with boat orders

I was just loading my boat with the final box when I upgraded from level 34 to level 35.
Wheeeeeeeeeeee. :D
Now the jam maker is available.
I send my boat away, next boat requires..............JAM!!

It takes 1 day and 11 hours to build the jam maker!!!

I don't mind difficult orders, but this is just not realistic.
I need to buy them somewhere, have friends who hopefully have jams or just cast away the boat.

This should/could be fixed in the code.
Only ask for new items after the building time has expired since you leveled up.

I have found that neighbours are incredibly helpful with jam orders. So in the mean time just flag those for help. It does take a long time to build up a store of jam though. I've never had to send a jam boat away unless I get two orders for jam at the same time. That does happen!

I agree it is very disheartening. But duck here is right (we're neighbors so I can use the nick name:cool:.). I'll fill a jam crate before a sugar one.

It is especially discouraging for someone trying to do the captain achievement since sending off the boat is not an option unless you want to start all over. That's why the captain and trucker helpers are so wonderfull. They helped me when I leveled up during my trucker run and the next order was jam. Arrrgggg. If you are working on the acheivements or considering it, please contact them on their thread.

That is very disheartening. What gets me is I get a boat order, let's say for potatoes, and then I only have a couple of potatoes left. So, lo and behold, the next boat wants potatoes again! Sigh ....

I agree with you though. And those ships asking for 22 bags of popcorn or bread in one crate?! What on earth are they thinking? Not to mention the enormous amounts of sugar and cream! Saw one person's flagged boat asking for 11 bags each of brown sugar. Why???!!!!!

If someone accepts a sugar boat and flags every single crate up for others to fill I refuse to fill them anymore - if you're going to accept them then at least try and fill ONE on your own. The only people I will fill ANY sugar or dairy crates for are ones who I know fill my tricky crates.

I suppose these players may have only one or two production slots open. Getting 11 sugar bags or cream completed with 2 slots is veeery tricky indeed :)

And maybe there could be fixed in the code too:

only ask for 24 butter if there were at least 10 boats NOT asking for butter, cheese, feta, or cream
not asking for syrup, if the boat before was asking for sugar,
not asking for vanilla-icecream AND hot chocolate on the same boat; both are using milk and white sugar and cream to make; can't be!

How many more examples of things that are difficult or (nearly) impossible do you want?

Other players may be capable of filling 3 diary-boats in a row (if they have barns with huge capacity perhaps?) for me it is impossible so yes, I cast off that boat. And if I am not wise anough to do that with the first one right away, then I'm feeling the consequences during a long time after that.
You don't have to level up to meet challenges like this and for me they are part of the game; they ARE the game. I see the boat orders as a choise: if you like them and think you can manage them, maybe with a little help from your friends, you take them; otherwise you cast them off; no big deal (going for captain, that's another case of course; people working on that during the latest update with its impossible boatorders for lobsteritems.....I feel very sorry for them. )

I have cast many a boat off myself ... then I send Tom off to buy something for me to sell in my roadside shop. I have to agree that some boat orders are ridiculous.
