How did you start playing Hay Day!

Hi Hay Day-ers
I have been having this argument with my fellow Hay Day-er.
I got started when my kids' started playing Hay Day, while she started by ad she saw in other games.

I think Hay Day is a game that is definitely kids friendly, and kids are the key spreading factor for Hay Day. Does anyone agree?

Love to hear how all of your started playing Hay Day, and if it is a recommendation from a friend, did that friend get recommended by kids.

I usually download applications to get points which I can convert later to money :).

Hay Day may be or may be not one of them (I don't remember). I was sick that day, might as well saw an ad for Hay Day and wanter to kill time. Downloaded once, stay forever :cool:.

I saw an ad through another game I was playing. Downloaded Hay Day and never went back to old game :p

Used to watch ads on another game to get free things, saw Hay Day ad a few times (finger clearing hay with a cute fox running just ahead, I think). When the other other game had too many faults which made playing unbearable I decided to give this game a try - never went back!

I have 4 nieces who all found the game on their own and love playing it. Funnily enough they all play on phones, whereas I play on an IPad. If it were just a phone game I woulndn't play, and if it was just an IPad game they wouldn't play.

My grandchildren introduced me and my husband to this game and all watch the progress. They like o help too!:D

I read an article about Supercell's organizational culture and the article mentioned that HayDay is very popular amongst women in my age group, so I decided to try. It seems I am a typical representative of my age group, since I've played HayDay for months now. :-)

Saw other mothers in my son's school playing it.

My daughter played all the time and wanted me to play too - now I play more than she does!

Saw my cousin playing it on her mini, those hypnotic finger swipes that we all have come to know fast and furious, i cant stop noticing.

after 3 straight days of her playing it i got curious.

"Whats that you are playing?"
"Hay day, better than that smurf thing (not that i play that lol)"

curiosity got the better of me. I downloaded HD and it got me hook, line and sinker. :o

I sometimes filter to top selling/most popular games to see what's hot on iTunes and Hay Day popped up.

The missus was playing HD for about 2 months, whilst I was playing something totally different...!!! I liked the comical animations, so that grabbed my interest for a start... lol. Downloaded the game about 7 month ago and not looked back since... There is still some poorer aspects of the game which I am not happy about, but they are far outweighed by the playability and social aspects... Not seen anything to beat it yet in any format...

Agree on that, this is by far the best farm game i personally have played so far.

While on vacation thousands on miles away from home last October I saw a adult man playing it. I had a different farm game I played at the time so we talked a bit and he showed me Hay Day. I loved the graphic so memorised the name of the game and downloaded it when I got back home. Never looked back at that other game I was playing LOL.

I used to play the "ville" games on Facebook, but got so frustrated with them that I gave them all up. I'd been doing some searches for any type of "ville" game on my iPhone and saw Hay Day a couple of times, but didn't really look into it. When I got my iPad Mini a few weeks ago, I searched again for the "ville" games and Hay Day once again came up...decided to just go for it, lol. TOTALLY hooked from the second I started playing. I recommended it a friend at work and she also plays now.

I am a 43 year old female. I love playing all sorts of games. One of my favorites was the PC game series Farm Frenzy. I have played all versions at least two times each.

I believe I saw an ad for HAY DAY on a certain candy themed game. The cute graphics is what first caught my attention. So I looked it up, saw it was a free app and decided to try it out. Have been addicted ever since.

I have since gotten my 63 yr old Mother and 35 yr old Sister addicted as well.

I saw Hay Day ad on another game and decited to give it a try. My friends played FB farm game at the time and told me it's good game. Because I'm not on FB I wanted to try farming games and HD was first found. After I started playing HD I haven't had any real life :rolleyes: Addicted.......

My friend sent me a request on fb nearly a year ago. I downloaded, started playing and the rest is history! Had a few weeks where I haven't played it but as soon as I'm back to It I'm addicted. I still play it, however my mate now doesn't.

I was playing another game, and had a fb network of friends that played it as well. As we were growing increasingly frustrated with how that game was being managed by tptb, some folks started looking for something else to play, someone found HD, and told someone else, and soon, most of my social network was playing it. I was a hold out for several months. early this year decided to see what all the fuss was about, downloaded and played it for a few hours. decided I didn't need another game requiring a server connection at all times, so deleted it. but ...

that few hours was all it took, and after a few weeks of resisting the urge, I caved, reinstalled it and have been happily playing ever since. It helped that I had a built in network of friends to help out!
Most of that network of friends are adults, btw, with a few teenagers thrown in to keep us all on our toes.

I was playing another app game and was part of its forum which had a thread that recommended other fun games. HD was highly discussed. Decided to give HD a try and the rest is history.

The other game? I no longer play. The forum? Once thriving and alive, now dead.

I have no clue! I was on heavy pain killers! Lol I had shoulder surgery a week prior. Hayday saved my sanity! I was recliner and home bound and if it wasent for hayday keeping me company I would have lost my mind! I also found a life long friend on here.

I use a site which gives you points for completing offers. HayDay was offered a few months ago, and I downloaded it. I played it for about six weeks and then deleted it because it was taking up way too much of my time. Then a couple months ago there was an update in my update list, and I succumbed and reinstalled. Was on level 19, and now am on 41.

Think it was an advert on another game. I swiped past it a few times before I finally decided to take the plunge and it got me too hook, line and sinker:rolleyes:

My 9 year old great-niece asked me to install it, she played intermittently on my iPad while visiting and hounded me to start playing (she had her own farm on her family's iPad). I resisted for months... then finally took the bait, took over the level 9 farm, and was instantly hooked!!

I started playing because I saw the game for so long in the top 10 apps in the AppStore. At first I was very skeptical because the App's icon is not really appealing but it stayed there for so long that I decided to give it a try.

I actually don't know any other parents that play since most of my friends' kids are too young. But quite a few of my childless friends and co-workers play!

I used to play a lot of various farm games in the computer. Stopped for a while and then a few months after I switched to the iPhone I started looking for free games including farm games; found Hay Day and been a self-proclaimed addict since March-April of this year. Farm-on!!

I travel a lot for work as well and my daughter and I definitely play while I'm gone. The only bad part is she'll sometimes keep calling and texting me while I'm tied up in meetings asking things like "Do you have a plank you can sell me? It's an emergency!"...lol

My 18 yr old daughter had it installed on my IPad, so when she went to the beach with friends for a week, she asked me to check in on her farm, collect the eggs & milk, do the daily WOF spin, and one other thing so she could get that achievement.

By the time she returned from her vacation, she discovered her level 17 farm had been subjected to a takeover by the new management, renamed, and put on the fast track to success. The bank assets had multiplied 10 fold & the level had increased to 28.

She tried to reclaim it, but her play style vs. mine are so radically different that she got tired of hearing my "bake more of those, don't sell that for that, plant this instead" advice, she returned daily management to me and is an in absentia landlord these days. Now on the rare occasion when she does pop in to see how things are doing, she gives me heart palpitations when she begins inventorying the barn & I begin yelling, "Don't spend my diamonds!"

Yeah, I blame my addiction on my teen! ;)

hahaha what a great story, I might be doing that to my girls one day. How did your daughter find it.

I think she found it via the IPad free games app, and downloaded it for my other daughter's 5 yr old to play because all the animals were so cute. The baby helps me farm on occasion now, but I keep a firm grip on the pad or else Granny's hard earned diamonds, ice creams, and cheese cakes disappear like wheat under a locust plaque!:rolleyes:

hahahaha. This is even better. I totally think Hay Day is a great game for kids, which spreads the love to adults. Does your 5 year old grand daughter friends play HD, and addict their parents to it too? hahaha

Also I realized I spent a nice chunk of money to help my daughters grow their farm.

Not that I'm aware of. The granddaughter got her own tablet for her birthday but its not an Idevice, so we were majorly disappointed that we were unable to download HD, & when she's at her Dad's house, he has a PC only, so no playing there either.:( Poor baby!

Another of my daughters, the eldest, is wanting to download it on her IPhone but she's been having issues with her service lately, so until that gets resolved, it looks like I'll have to settle for only the one farm to co-opt for the time being.:rolleyes: The baby's mother does have an IPhone but refuses to install HD because "You're not getting my phone just for another farm, Mama!" Talk about ingratitude!;)

Until some years ago I had no idea of ftp-games; I saw them in the appstore and saw in-game purchases from some euro's to over a hundred. I really thought they had to be joking! Who will spend that much money on a 'free' game, while there are so much nice paid games that cost you less than a 5% or something like that? (Now I know: lots of people are doing so, even if they actually can't afford it).

I wondered if games like that could be played without spending lots of money, so I tryed one out of curiosity. Now I know: some are, and some are certainly NOT. The last one I played before Hay Day was horrible; tasks could not be accomplished without gambling on 'mystery' gifts, spending all of your game currency (which was very hard to get). After you lost on several mystery gifts (giving you lots of stuff you did not need and not giving the item needed for your quest) the onley option was to purchase more of these 'gifts' for real money ('offered' for onley a few days) and not costing you a few cents but something like 8 (or even more) euro a piece. I kicked the game of my Ipad within a few days. (It's a very populair game too it seems; i don't get that.)
In the meantime I had discovered Hay Day (in the appstore i think) loved playing it, and for several months now there is more than enought to do and discover; what I especially like: nothing will die! I can leave the game as long as I want, all crops, animals and little people asking for eggs, wheat or bread are there, patiently waiting for me (my boat will be gone probably, yeah.. that sucks :rolleyes:)

How I started this game is I don't remember honestly. From what I know is I saw this on the top free games. I was very hesitant to play this game because I knew it's going to be like that of FV on FB. But I was reluctant and decided to download and give it a try. After first few levels, I could not get my hands off of this game. Thanks SC for ruining my life (JK).

I clicked on an ad while playing pocket planes. downloaded hay day and quickly got addicted.

lol - that's brilliant!

I frequently check the App store's best seller list and HD was at the top. This was last December. I was playing all the time...too much, really. Then I decided to stop for a while. I sold every last item from my store at 1 coin and then bought everything from the DD to use up my coins and sold all of that for 1 coin. During the month-long break my 13 yr old son said he was "proud of me for breaking my addiction." Now, just like any addict, I'm back at it. <sigh>

It was about 3 months ago........

My sister and I were playing another game (Pocket Frogs) at the time and saw ads for Hay Day. A few days later, my sister started playing on our dad's iPhone. She wanted me to play but I was reluctant, I had a lot of other apps. So one night she took the iPad (which I play my apps on) and downloaded Hay Day lol. A few days later, I gave in and tried it and got hooked on it lol. So thank my sister for my presence on Hay Day lol.

Grandchildren used to play and gave their games to their parents, neither of whom play now but my husband and I both still play:D:D

No, our friends don't play hay day. Our parents aren't "hooked" yet but they like to look at our farms. Our grandma might get an iPhone and she says she would like to play.
