I've never really payed attention to the DD but does SC really believe people are that stupid to spend that many diamonds for TNT or any other DD when you can buy Tom for a day for a lot less and get 10times the amount of goods?

Perhaps some players aren't on enough to take advantage of Tom. If I'm working a 12 hour shift (NOT including call) it seems pointless to use Tom since I scrub into surgical procedures and am unable to play. So getting a quick DD is a lot more effective for me. Granted I don't use the DD because I get most of my items wheating, but still for someone else this may be a welcome option.
This game has been set up for all types of users, not just those who spend loads of time on it! Occasional players who don't mind spending the equivalent of the cost of a magazine every month would really benefit from buying a whole bunch of TNT or dynamite, or whatever else they fancy
The idea of setting an alarm every 2 hours so that I make the most of Tom fills me with horror, quite frankly. Others do, and love it.
(And given the frequency of accidental usage, I and probably many others would prefer to spend diamonds quickly rather than hoard them and lose them while playing.)

And yes, you are right, the game is set up for many different users. I think that is where the fishing nets come in. Granted the time is a touch excessive; however, it works ok for me since I abhor fishing and usually am busy during the day.
Hm, spending diamonds quickly is actually a good idea. That way you don't lose them accidentally. The only thing that is kind of inconvenient is that when you do need them later down the road, you don't have them. Cooooome on SC, get that confirmation button implemented! Lol.

I never called anyone stupid. My point is, regardless of your play style, you can hire Tom for 1 day, 15 diamonds, and only use him twice if you choose to and still come out WAY better than buying the DD. Even if you only used him once in 24hrs it's still better than the DD.
you cant get Tom on the lower levels, and thats when the daily deal would be more important in trying to clear your land
