♥♥♥ Central Clan Castle to end Hopping and make Donations easier. ♥♥♥

The Central Clan Castle idea is to help end clan hopping and make donations easier.

1) We can donate as many troops as we wish into Central Clan Castle (Similar to the Guild vault in WoW).

2) The Central Clan Castle can set to accept certain level/types of troops (Central Clan Castle Rules).

Example Rules:
- Minimum Unit Stats: Level 2+ Dragons and Level 3+ Wizards only. (So people can't donate inferior units)
- Ratios: You must donate 1 elixir unit to get 1 elixir unit. (for example, you must donate 30k in total value to get a dragon -- 1:1 ratio). So a new member joins, he can't take anything out of the Central Clan Castle until he first donates -- it's that simple.

The idea is to make this game more playable, we don't have to wait all day to donate or don't have to wait all day to get donations.

This makes clans of ALL SIZES can interact seamlessly, don't need 50 members to get consistent donations.. clans with 2 members will work! To eliminate 1 person clan, there can be a set minimum of 2 members to have Central Clan Castle.

I can commit a build to only donate and commit 200 units at a time, rather than waiting for someone to spend all my 200 units. When I need units, I can just go to the bank and get exactly what I want right away. Everybody wins!

I like the idea. Though simplistic, it also could act as a way for people to get donations without anyone else being online at that moment.

I can then get whatever units i prefer in my clan castle.

Also, if they develop ranks within the clan, you can then make it so that people with higher ranks can get better troops!

This is easily abusable. Right now I have my TH8 completely done except for walls, so I can spend the day filling the CCC with 12 dragons every 90 minutes. And that's just me. 50 people would have 600 dragons stored in 90 minutes.

Also, if I can shop for my troops the Clan Castle loses its element of randomness. Might as well just make the troops yourself.

Low-level troop donations wouldn't be welcomed, or used. That means newer players won't donate, and won't be in the habit of donating when they become high-level players. Worse, the CCC would fill up with troops no one wanted.

What you might want instead is the ability to "Stack" a CC like you would the barracks. So I could visit a village, find a full castle, and "stack" troops that would fill the castle after the others left. Maybe stack 5 troops per CC level. That way I can't drop a Valkyrie on a level 1, and I could only stack a dragon on a level 4 castle. (But I can DONATE a Valkyrie to level 1 or a dragon to level 3.). That should balance things.

Still, be careful when changing the game. The text box for donations has been an ordeal to manage. People demand specific troops or specific levels, which inadvertently excludes some of our newer players. When they say "lvl 4 plz" half my clan can't donate now, which is stressful because we have a minimum. So I don't let my clan members demand by level.

Supercell may decide this counts as clans pooling resources, which they have ruled out.
The problem now is donating is challenging for those who don't have time. This is an exchange of resources, which in effect, is the same as it is now. It's just more efficient.

That's a good thing, if a player has a 8-5 job (who has money to spend on this game) that needs donations but don't have time all day in chat to donate, he can queue up the donations and focus on attacking.

Right now it's not random, unless you want your clan to be random, my clan you can request anything and get exactly that. Not quite random.

Low level troops are for low level clans, as the player moves up, he can switch as he chooses, or grow along w/ the clan.

If I'm donating level 4 troops, I'd hate to get level 2 troops, if people are fine with that, then settings can be made.. I prefer to receive level 4+ troops if I'm donating level 4 troops.

No resources abused. You put in what you get out. Because of that it adds incentive for people to donate.

Since you can collect donated troops on demand, without waiting after request, it also allows you to enjoy the system more, which will give you incentive to donate as well.

This is a simple feature which will make the Clan Donations a lot more used and enjoyable.

Agreed, I'd enjoy this game more, spend time on actually doing the fun stuff -- so it doesn't feel like a grind.

I don't like this. My clan is a farming clan. Since most of us farm, most of us don't have dragons readily available. Some, our "donation rockstars", constantly are training dragons and PEKKAs to give out. The rest of us give archers. My archers cost 200 elixir to make. To even get a level 2 dragon I have to donate 150 archers. This discourages our donators from donating. That breaks the game.

Supercell may decide this counts as clans pooling resources, which they have ruled out.

I agree with scjim here, InvaderJir. Players that play at peak times still receive troops all they want, provided that they are in an active donating clan. However, for players that do not play at peak times or may be in different time zones, they can also make contributions to the clan.

This is easily solvable. There's a maximum capacity for the storage space, for example 100 spaces. A maximum capacity paired with the 20 minute waiting time for the clan castles would still make donating competitive. People aren't all of a sudden going to have thousands of dragons to play around with.

It could also be fun to have the maximum capacity increase with upgrades purchased by gold save up and donated by clan members. Now that many high level players have inactive builders, perhaps they could also temporarily donate to their builders to such clan upgrading projects. As maximum capacity increases, certain portions of the castle could be dedicated to different types of troops.

That's way out there, but it would be great to have some other achievements that clans could work for together, rather than just trophy hunting.

Again, if there is a maximum capacity, you still never know what's going to be in there. You get the randomness, the efficiency, and the choices!

Then a farming clan should have ratio settings that is fitting for its purpose. Say 10:1 or 100:1.

Good idea but:

1) clan spirit will be de-emphasized
2) say if I only had level 4 archer, I probably wanted level 5 and 6 archers from my clanmates, instead of just level 4 archers from people I don't know.
3) not sure if this idea works in the possible clan war update

1) It will be more fluid I think, we can talk about the important things like strategy and replays, instead of asking for an archer.
2) So be it, would you rather wait maybe 20 minute for a unit or just get a level 4 archer instantly?
3) You've stated no real problem.

Ask yourself, if there are 2 clans:
1) Clan with Central Clan Castle 2) and a clan without.

Which would you prefer to join?

Any other counter arguments? It seems like they're a bit weak.

There is a reason Supercell doesn't let you simply populate your own clan castle. They want there to be this collaborative element to the game where players in active/healthy clans get a decided advantage.

Quite honestly if they were hip to your idea, it'd make more sense for them to just let you populate your own clan castle every 20 minutes. It'd be a lot easier to code and would have the same net effect.

You kind of attempted to skirt this issue by indicating it must be clan based and require two people. However, I'm sure if you think about it for a bit you'll realize that the restriction you propose isn't really a restriction at all.

So let's say I'm donating dragons to my clan, and I request dragons from my clan. They fulfill the same thing. Essentially, it's the same now as with a Central Clan Castle. How about this, Central Clan Castle is an option any clan can enable or disable. It's likely 95% of the clan members out there prefer one with a Central Clan Castle.

You go join your clan without a Central Clan Castle.

If they want to add a mystery element to it, then leader can set it to be random unit receive, makes it more fun.

There are lots of things people would prefer. They want resource donation. They want gem mines. They want cheaper structures. The want lower build times.

These things would not necessarily improve the game, however.

Also I think it's pretty clear that donating a certain troop to your clan mates and requesting that troop back from them is not the same as donating that troop to yourself.

It appears the shoe is on the other foot now. I gave you an excellent counter argument to your suggestion. It would appear you are now the one giving weak counter arguments in response.

You've made your case that I can essentially donate troops to myself.

So the solution to that is:
You can't get the troops you've donated, that's pretty simple to code. Problem fixed.

Actually keeping track of that may not be so easy. It's not like they are going to tag all troops added with a unique id that traces back to you. However, if they did it could also be quite annoying.

Let's say you, player A, and player B all donate a level 3 dragon. Then Players A and B pull each others dragon out. That leaves the one dragon you donated. Technically 3 people donated dragons but now the one left is yours and it won't let you pull it out.

Alternatively if they tried a system where they didn't track by some sort of weird tagging mechanism there would still be corner cases. In order for this scheme to work they'd actually have to keep track of a complete donation and removal history that would have to be retrieved and parsed each time a request was made.

Basically the game would have to know that you donated one dragon, and then at some other later time others donated and then removed dragons thus the remaining dragon should be free for you to remove. It would have to keep track of all of this for all clan members and all combinations of troops and levels.

Also what happens when people donate and then leave the clan? What if they leave just to visit someone else and come back? What if someone joins, donates a few troops, decides they aren't happy with the clan and leaves?

So basically you punish folks who aren't hoppers because there are other people in the game who are hoppers. That doesn't seem reasonable to me.

Wouldn't it be possible to prohibit players from taking troops they've donated to the clan? That seems reasonable.

I go into the Central Clan Castle and donate a dragon.

"Hmmm, that dragon actually looked pretty good. I want it for my castle."

"You can't take your own troops. Please select another unit!"

"Ok, I guess I'll take these 3 hog riders and 5 minions instead. Oh and look, it says these are from dahimi. I'm going to leave a thank you message for him on this awesome clan castle page."

Dahimi does bring up some good points, but it does feel like he's more interested in coming up with counter arguments than to find a solution.
