Can't see this posted anywhere in Bugs and Issues, so thought I would just check if anyone else is having this problem with Tom.
If I refuse his offer of seven items and tap 'Not Now' he goes off and just comes back with four. He's done this twice now. Anyone else having this before I report it?
This issue is related to the accidentally spending a diamond for an ad issue I believe. The area for selecting none of them or selecting the middle box are too close now and possibly even overlapping. Click the far right of the none of them button and the worst that will happen is Tom will fetch 7 for you. Try to aim for the very bottom of the none of them button as well. I am sure SC will fix these issues soon. Similar thing happened in the past with crops and it was only a few days before they had the issue solved. Hope this time the solution is just as quick.

I know when I've worked with Tom ("used Tom" doesn't quite sound right...), sometimes he would bring back less or equal amounts as the previous offerings so I had to make him work a little harder by sending him out two or three times more.

I posted my issue over at bugs sub-forum, but for the first time, my Tom is being a typical bloke. He just left without a word with 9 hrs left and expect me to pay for him again.
He's sneaky alright, short changing farmers here and there.
