Clan Castle can be a valuable defense - but can just as easily be a waste of space.
1) CC troops can be lured - even if it's centered; you can still lure and kill them. Powerful Dragons or Wizards can be lured, isolated and killed easily too. You can't lure a Mortar or an Air Defense etc.
2) Back to back raids will render if useless most/all troops will be killed. Mortar etc is always ready for battle [unless you are upgrading it of course].
1) True, but someone can also lightning your mortar. Does that make it a bad? It's of course lurable if you have a bad placement of it, but that doesn't mean the cc is bad.
2) True. But I'd like to see your mortar help you bring a golem to an attack. You can't possibly be serious when comparing those.
OnT: simply buy the CC. Everything else is a waste.
just do it, you have to do it sometime why not do it why u got the coinage??
The CC is better than every other defence not only because it is the highest DPS unit, but because it distracts units from attacking your defences and resources, allowing your defences more time to destroy them.
Also, they are incredibly useful verses units that go for a particular type of building, such as hogs/giants/ballons/goblins etc. That means that unless the attacker wants to waste 20 odd thousand gold on a lightning spell, those cc troops can utterly destroy your attackers.
Regarding the question of whether to pay 7 mill gold for an extra five troop spaces, the whole reason that it is that expensive is because it is worth it. If you are in a good enough clan, a golem will absolutely destroy most attacks as it's incredibly high hitpoints will distract the troops for a long time.
Factor in the attacking capabilities and there is no argument.
The CC is the best defence by far.
Well, if you're going to talk about only one aspect of an item then say so. Mortars can't attack ground but CC troops can. Oh ma gaaawd, it's just better!
I can use 4 lightning spells to take out 2 of your mortars. That renders them kinda useless, don't ya think?
(answer: no it doesn't, just means they are vulnerable to lightning.)
