The push for a better global chat
I know I'm not the only one finding myself more and more turned off my the frequent issues in global chat.
I tend to play early hours of the morning and late hours of the night. 12-1am range and 5-6am range. Even in English chat, I find myself encountering language barriers where most of the global chat participants are speaking their native tongue. Even in the times I find an English speaking chat, they're often players around the world from where I am. There's not much to talk about or relate to as our walks of life, age, and culture are so different. Not much conversation comes up beyond join this join that. Combine that with the fact that I can't mute or change global chat rooms while in the clouds and it really makes for a negative experience.
I spend enough time in global chat, that more than any other new feature or balancing or anything else - I want a better chat system than we have now. Something where I'm not accosted by children wanting me to join their clan, threatening to report if I don't, then getting me muted for 24 hours. A chat where I'm not held captive by clouds for 30-45 minutes at a time.
I'd be really cool to have features like an 18+ adults chat, free of kids and without the crippling chat filter. Or perhaps a geographic filter where I can choose to only talk with players in say.. North America, or Europe, or Asia. Some limitation that I can find people closer to me, not 12 hours outside my time zone. Or something where I can escape the join-me-or-else people without sacrificing 20 minutes of cloud time. It would even be workable if clash allowed split screen functionality where I can use an external chat app of my choice while searching
I don't know what SuperCell has planned for this, and future updates. But I find my experience consistently soiled by what global chat has turned into. I implore them to explore better options
