I should be able to assign 5 builders to one fast upgrade or 1 builder each on 5 slow upgrades. In the real world you add workers if you want a project completed faster... why not in CoC? All we need is a mod that lets players designate the number of free builders they want on a project.... the more builders assigned, the shorter the time 🔧🔨🛠

I think you are saying make it like how barracks speeds up troop making when you have more available. I personally like it if I think for my own benefits. But be aware SC has weighed in on this (it has always been a frequent request and going back years) and they are opposed to it. I have some guesses as to why they dont want to but will spare you hearing them.
The reason I like it is because I busted the extra money for a fifth builder but have since figured out that I got robbed. It was really nice when I first got it as I had four busy already and could start a fifth thing. But that was only for a short time I could do that. Not long after I was eligable to buy it my stuff started being at levels where they cost so much that it was hard to raise loot fast enough to keep them all busy. So suddenly that builder was wasted money. And the time that he was actually useful to me was so short that on hindsight it wasnt worth the gems, i should have stayed at four, arguably at three even. But if in those scenarios I could put the extra huts to making my upgrades shorter that would have been extra value from them before they turned all useless.
Now I am at the point where everything is maxed except my heroes and walls. Thats one builder in action once every great while, the rest useless other than Im allowed to upgrade walls any time I am ready. But also that once in a great while hero upgrade is in itself a problem because it takes a week and I have to stay out of war during that time. If I could put all my builders on that hero upgrade that would cut 7 days down to 1d 9 or 10h (which way they rounded). That would be something I could schedule so I only miss one war. Thats way better than the three wars I miss in our 3 back to back then one day rest schedule.
So I support your idea by saying I like it. But warn you that I am aware SC does not.
This is a great idea!!!!!!! RWELSHJR has done an amazing job of thinking it through and the CoC staff has always shown that it is willing to change its mind after thinking about suggestions. Only 6 months ago reducing the cost of L10 was a total "no go" for competitive reasons.... now it is a reality! The CoC staff thought about it and reconsidered. I would like to see the option to designate the number of builders when an upgrade is started. Assigning 2 builders cuts the upgrade time in half... Assigning 3 cuts it by 2/3rds and assigning all 5 of your builders cuts the time by 4/5ths... It is realistic and does not give anyone an advantage... You can either have 5 builders doing 5 upgrades that take the normal amount of time or 5 builders all working on one project. If CoC wants to really push gem sales... make adding builders to upgrades only an option for villages with 5 builders!!!
