There might be space for a new air troop with novel properties. I suppose you all know Griffin (Gryphon), that gorgeous creature with a body part from an eagle, part from a lion. Griffin is a guard of gold, but also a true fighter. What I suggest is a strong flying unit that would fill the space between dragon and minion and having own characteristic properties which could affect a lot in strategy planning. It could be an ordinary troop to be trained with elixir, however, with an optional dark elixir boost at high level.
Attack: Griffin can be programmed to transport land units over walls and drop them to empty slots, possibly close to storages. When not carrying cargo, attacks preferentially air units and towers. Weak against well upgraded air defence.
Defence: Guards gold storages. Preferentially attacks dragon or another griffin, if detects one. Otherwise attacks all units within a radius of five, but only close to storages. Weak against hordes of minions or archers.
Tentative specifications: lvl 1/2/3/4
Damage per second (dps): 55/64/72/80. Single target.
Health points: 500/580/650/700
Cargo: can be programmed to take passengers from the camp. Transports one giant or five archers/barbs/goblins. For simplicity, loads cargo in random manner depending what is present on the camp so planning of transportations may require some planning in which order troops are trained.
Training cost: 20000/24000/27000/30000 elixir
Training time: 20 min
Space: 15
Speed: 20
If griffin becomes destroyed while transporting, also the cargo will be destroyed. On the other hand, it can be trained in considerable numbers which allow new type of air attacks over walls. Griffins will distract defences so dropped forces may cause much damage, in addition to what griffins make themselves. Use of griffins together with spells and dragons/minions could be a tempting possibility. The importance of carefully planned and well upgraded air defence should become of utmost importance and might invoke challenges in village design.
Additionally, an optional lvl5 with dark elixir boost could have even higher health and dps and coulf carry dark troops. E.g. valkyrias or other possible future troops dropped inside the walls might add new challenges in the game. Lvl5 training cost e.g. 30000 elixir plus 80 dark elixir, dps 100, health 800, carries one valkyrie, 2 giants or 8 smaller troops.
Lvl1-2 could be released at th7 or 8, lvl3-4 at th8 or 9, optional lvl5 at th10.
