Confessions of a self proclaimed picky player

It's true. And this latest update was the last straw. Fortunately, they nailed it.

True to my word, I bought no more diamonds, waiting to see if the ability to remove followers would appear. It did. But along with it, was the surprise that "friends" who were also raiding my stalls on occasions were reselling, at minimal prices. On closer observation, they weren't even low-level players, they turned out to be "helper" farms. I dumped three of them this morning after seeing them buy stuff that I put out for friends, some of whom ARE legitimate low-level players. Maybe now they'll actually be able to progress a bit faster since they'll have an opportunity to actually buy goods that aren't most likely going to "help" someone "help" themselves.

So I'm saying it, it's a game, and everyone has the right to play the game the way that they want to. Just like I have the right to play the game the way that I want to play, and with whom I choose to play.

So, SuperCell, thanks for this last update.

I get bothered by people who are bothered by high level players buying their premium stuff, attributing bad motives to them, when you really have no idea what they are doing with the stuff and no idea why they bought it. Sure, maybe they really are just trying to re-sell it to boost their "roadside shop max revenue" but that seems unlikely, since you get nothing for that achievement other than perhaps a smile to yourself when you check your farm statistics. It seems more likely that they are themselves trying to help out some of their own lower level friends (a motivation that you seem to find OK when you do it!). Or maybe they just happen to be in need of those items (despite their level), and they think you are a great friend for selling it to them.

Recently I snapped up a bunch of premium stuff from one of my friends at an even higher level than I am, and afterwards I wondered if she would be one of these touchy people who would un-friend me presuming bad motives (she didn't). But what I did with all that stuff was go around and put it in the boats of my other friends--it was all redistributed in less than half an hour to other people who had an immediate need for it.

You are free to friend or un-friend whomever you want for whatever reason, but I urge you not to go through life seeing malice where there is none.

Such a good point monkey. When I am working on boats I often will go shopping for stuff other people need for their boats. When my cash is up and no machines to buy at the moment lol

My experience is that people who are helping low level players are also playing themselves, not only reselling to help others. I've watched a lot of friends who were only buying but I couldn't ever seem to find them selling (or producing anything) themselves. When those items they just bought from you are being resold for one coin, I doubt in all sincerety that those are good motives.

I don't sell any of my items for one coin, I round everything down to the nearest five, and it's offered for those people who are actually playing the game. When I go consistently to farms, see no production, only resales of stuff they've bought from me, a pattern has been established. It's not as if it happened overnight, but this one detail in the upgrade seemed to confirm what, for me, was going on.

I also do this. But then, I'll go through the daily dirt looking for it, unless I'm pretty sure I know I'm going to need the surplus myself. I figure if it's in the daily dirt, it's open for everyone who plays the game, which is a clear distinction for me, otherwise our stalls would be publicized every day, all the time.

Powder I love your posts!! I now can call you Robin Hood, lol you know I'm only kidding, but I think it works. I help a lot of boats probably about 10 or more a day. I buy up a lot of stuff to do this. I guess you can call me little John. Lol

I forgot to reply to this portion of your reply. Nowhere did I state that malice was involved. What is involved, however, is fairness. Additionally, I find it somewhat inappropriate to suggest to people how they should live their lives. Those sort of statements just don't belong in the forum, no matter how well intended they may be.

In the end, you play the game your way, I play the game my way. I was offering a commentary on one of the new items in the update.

Sorry but sounds to me like you just need to.middle your neighbors. Way. Down if you don't want anyone buying your wares

For the record, I don't care who buys my stuff or why, as long as it gets bought. If I want a particular person to get it, I kik them or pm them and ask them if they want to arrange a sale. I don't bother with actual trades unless you consider trading for coins a trade. I figure that if I see someone who mentions needing deeds, and I have space to spare, I'll hold on to a few and arrange for a sale. Then if I need a couple bolts, I can ask them to sell me some and they usually do (thanks Wendy)
even if they are still expanding. Heck I don't even get mad if someone nabs my trade. Eventually one of us will get another and try again.

So if you like to buy everything you see, but also sell yourself now and then, add me and we can buy and sell to our hearts content. But be warned, I am addicted to wheating ;-)
