Is it just me?

Does anyone else find it a bit creepy that we can now visit other player's fishing areas (and they can visit ours) and snoop through their fishing diary?!? I don't see the point in this and it made me feel like I was digging in someone's underwear drawer when I looked through their book. I won't be doing that again. I gained nothing from it. And its not like we can enjoy seeing their fishing area decorations because we can't decorate or customize it so they all look the same. What is the point??? This along with the new icons in the roadshop telling us who bought each item all seems like a little too much invasion of privacy.

I wouldn't go so far as saying it's invasion of privacy but I probably won't be visiting friends' fishing areas at all...not something I'm interested in. Hell, I'm barely interested in my own fishing area! Lol

The new avatars showing who bought what from others' shops is a PITA! THAT, is completely pointless. It's an eyesore and provides nothing useful. What's wrong with just showing empty stalls?! I don't like it at all :(. It needs to go back to the way it was.

I like the avatar in the shops - seems to provide a clue that the item was really there and not just a rehashed ad. It also tips me when I am connected to FB inadvertently.

Have to agree that I don't see the usefulness of looking through others' fishing books (unless its to encourage fishing challenges, but we all know that sending challenges is the best way to get unfriended pronto!:rolleyes:) it was a bit creepy feeling, & I won't be doing again either.

As far as the purchasers' icons in the shops, a effect we may see is that chronic raiders will be more identifiable. From other threads I know that raiding is a controversial practice. Some don't mind it, others do. I know I'll certainly think twice before accepting (fictitious name) as a new friend if I continually see their icon in everyone's shop buying everything in sight. Who knows, maybe seeing it for themselves will make them think twice about how greedy that sort of behavior appears.

Then again, there may be the occasional true narcissist who just loves seeing their own picture and it will encourage even more raiding!:D

I felt like this new feature was very true to life! Am I the only one who reads through their neighbors' books and mail when they aren't around in real life?

Is this not a shared experience?

Personally, while it doesn't bother me to have folks drop by and browse what I'm about, I highly doubt I'll bother with this feature myself. I just see no purpose in it.


As for the avatars of who bought stuff...I think that's a wait and see for me. Right now I don't like it at all.

I can see a purpose to it, replacing the "someone just bought that" message, but I'm finding it very, very distracting at the moment and it's interfering with my brains ability to quickly browse and process what is still available....too much visual distraction and overload. Once my eyes and brain are used to it and learn how to filter out the avatars, perhaps I won't mind it so much.

I agree that I'd rather go back to just empty bins, but an unobtrusive small-text "sold" would be a much better compromise that should make everyone happy.

EDIT: Ok, so after playing for a few hours with the avatars showing of who bought what, I've made up my mind.....Me no likey dem. Nope, nope, nope.

Due to the data upload of the avatars and names, scrolling through the shop bins continually freezes the scroll and causing me to visit farm after farm after farm. Scrolling through my neighbors shops usually takes about 10 minutes but now takes 20-30 minutes.

The clutter and visual distraction make it very hard to single out what's still on sale and the eye strain has given me a headache. I thought at first that I could adjust to the visual distraction and train my brain to filter out the unnecessary clutter , but I now doubt that I have the stamina or patience to reach that point.

It's also causing animosity among some users, who are accusing others of all manner of perceived misdeeds now that it can be seen how much someone buys.

I think the icons on the RSS also slows down the scanning process. That is one new feature I don't care for. Also, it seems like a taunt... "Ha, ha, ha...I got to the good item before you did...nannie nannie boo boo"

I can't help myself and have to put my 2 cents in about the raiding issue

I literally play this game 24/7 and have over 200 friend now. I love going shopping at all of their RSS. It's fun. Especially when you finds things like Strawberry cake, Baked Potatoes, etc.

If I see good items, I buy them.

Obviously this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off two of my "friends" because I noticed that two of my favorite shops to stop at are gone. They must of unfriended me.

I am a very giving player. I put almost all items on my RSS for just a little over default price, I help with boats whenever I can... Matter of fact, half of the shopping I do is so I can help other players. I got my mom and sister playing and I am helping them expand their barn and silos over expanding mine. I also helped my mom with all her land plots by shopping RSS, buying what I could (usually at max price) and then giving to her for one coin. And once I have my sister expanded I will find someone on this forum and do the same for them.

So, yes, I buy a lot off of RSS, but isn't that what they are there for! To be bought?

I guess I just wanted it to be known that even though I might seem like a "raider", my intentions are good. I'm not just helping myself, but helping others too.

Ditto for me.

Im no raider and try to keep at 3 or 4 items per shop however why does everyone need to know what I purchase ? The avatars are distracting and a simple sold sign would be efficient .

Considering the fact that this game is forever changing, at some point in the future we may be able to visit the fishing area and assist just as we do in the farming area.


This may simply be stage 1 of multiple stages to get us to that point.


Everything isn't going to happen all at once.
