No mods have seen this thread yet. They have seen the hub which led to this thread. Not even a single concept of this thread is confirmed that mods know this thread. That's why we are waiting for mod response.

Adding on again with my first comment. I don't care you have a majority of 70 users because half of them were probably inexperienced or they're new forumers. It's easy to ride the hype wave - except just looking at this thread maybe there's reason no one dares to disagree.

I agree. The thread looks quite neat though. Look at Zygarde's first comment and next. People tend to notice things less if they feel confident. That's scientific. It is a reason why you can read an entire paragraph just by seeing first, last and a few middle letters. Going off-topic now. oops.

As for your first comment, I did say that he needs to work better ideas instead of arguing. Eventually, both of us became tired.

I think he's talking to me / anyone in the "change the subforum" party.People disagreed, and we argued but kept our positions. That's all.The users in that 70 people list are experienced enough to come back sometimes to visit the forum and find threads like the Forum Cleanup one. Most of them are still active here.I mentioned the mods not disagreeing - indeed, they didn't take a position yet. But most experienced forumers want something to help this subforum. I don't know if you've lately seen the FS spam we've been getting, but it's quite big. This thread was made because mods cannot give us "IFR Mods" ; moderators used to manage IFR. But they didn't say no to "new rules", so I made a thread.

Initially speaking - was this discussed with a mod at all? Or was this a spur of the moment thing? Either way I suggest you add some more detail to the context in the introduction of the thread, referencing dates, discussions and such.

Several of the rules are repeats of the main forum rules. Thread rules 1, 2, 4, 7, 8 and 9 come to mind. Post rules 2, 3, 4 and 5 too. Why restate them all if they're already mentioned in this line?

We've recently seen in the IFR subforum an increasing amount of Fresh Spawn spam ; messages in other languages, necromancing threads, one-lined ideas...
A thread has been created around a month ago to try to fix the IFR subforum ; but most ideas have been rejected by Supercell moderators, for various reasons (example : no IFR Mods because they'd be all-powerful) Link the thread. In con
The idea of making new rules, though, has not been taken down. So I've decided to try to create new rules applying only in the IFR subforum, to moderate things better.

This is the IFR subforum - Ideas & Feature Requests. Nothing else. In here, we are talking about new ideas, new features, and how they could make the game better. Those rules were made to prevent useless thread spamming.

Introduction : How to report a post ?

If you see in the IFR subforum a post breaking any of the following rules, use the Report button, located on the bottom left corner of any post ; it has a "warning" sign, and is next to the Reputation button.
Once you click this button, explain how the thread breaks IFR's rules ; link to this thread if necessary.

I - Thread Rules

• 0. A new sub-subforum, located above IFR's stickies, called "Closed Threads" will be used as a folder to stock all thread breaking rules 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 9. Updating hundreds of threads isn't feasible. Let's face it. They will be made.
• 1. Any thread posted in the wrong subforum must be reported to a Moderator who will have to move it in the correct subforum. Indicate which subforum if necessary.
• 2. Any thread written in another language than in English is a clear infraction to the Main Forum Rules. Report the post to a Moderator. The thread will have to be closed and moved to "Closed Threads".
• 3. Any thread written using less than 100 letters (any thread with no real idea inside) must be reported, closed and moved to "Closed Threads". What if a niche forumer manages to communicate the idea in a few lines tho? An in-depth post isn't always required. Also how do you get to decide the bolded part?
• 4. Any thread containing a ruled out idea will have to be reported, closed and moved to "Closed Threads". Moderator may if he wants give the link of the list of Ruled Out ideas.
• 5. Any thread copying someone else's work or created to talk about someone else's idea will have to be reported, closed and moved to "Closed Threads". If you want to discuss with someone about their idea, PM or VM them. "Copying" means a copypaste of another idea (CTRL+C ; CTRL+V), with same stats, same words, no real changes. Ideas can be gained by anyone originally but they aren't always specific to a single person. You really want to subject everyone to 10-20 minutes of searching? What if original OP has been banned/gone inactive? Detail, detail, detail.
• 6. Any thread inactive for more than 6 months may not be discussed any more, at all. Re-opening this thread will be considered as Necromancing. What if OP updates it in a relevant way?
• 7. Any thread inactive for more than 1 month may not be revived by a useless post (example : "its cool"). Re-opening this thread without real arguments, improvements or anything will be considered as Necromancing.
• 8. Any thread which has received several BUMPs from its owner without getting attention will have to be reported, closed and moved to "Closed Threads". BUMPs are badly seen here. They can be allowed from time to time when the idea is good, but more than 2 BUMPs in a row are not allowed. What defines an idea being good?
• 9. Any thread which has been necromanced for any reason (see rules 6) and 7) ) will have to be closed and moved to "Closed Threads". Report the necromancer's post, not the thread.
• 10. On the first and second infractions to any of the Thread Rules, a warning will be given by PM. For further infractions, infraction points will have to be given to players.

II - Post Rules

• 0. To post in the IFR subforum, Fresh Spawns will have to make 5 posts in other subforums. That will decrease the probability of a Fresh Spawn coming in with a one-lined idea and never come back. This was done on the coc side in the Clan Wars sub. Hurt and decreased amount of discussion for quite a while as people weren't even allowed to comment on threads (regarding which nothing is stated here).
• 1. Any post that falls under the BUMPing and Necromancing category will have to be reported and deleted. Contradicts "They can be allowed from time to time when the idea is good," stated earlier in this very post.
• 2. Any post not giving constructive feedback (example : "this sucks") will have to be reported and deleted.
• 3. Any form of inappropriate language used in posts will have to be reported and deleted. User may receive a tempban/infraction points for his message.
• 4. Any form of spam (example : "kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kk") will have to be reported and deleted.
• 5. Any post unrelated to the current thread of topic (example : "come in my clan th1") will have to be reported and deleted.
• 6. Any post containing an idea being put in someone else's thread will have to be reported and deleted. Agreed. Hijacking threads is not cool. What if a discussion on an idea sparks another idea though, and people want to iron out details, completely in relevance with original post?
• 7. On the 3 first infractions to any of the Post Rules - except rules 3 and 4 - warnings will be given to players. For further infractions, infraction points will be given to players breaking the rules.

Everyone in the subforum must agree to respect those rules to make IFR a better place for everyone.

I knew when making this thread that I'd get love or hate. Some people even want harsher rules than the ones I've put here.
But since we can't get IFR Mods...

I don't agree with this - not the intentions. Just how practical it is because we're on mutal ground about the fresh spawns. Why would they bother theirselves to read this? CoC IRF isn't that much better, actually, this place is a lot more better because there's actually a sizeable group, bit you're not going to accomplish anymore regarding the "fresh spawns" because they (mods) should be doing something like a post requirement and that'll basically be the greatest thing to happen.

Since everytime I edit people miss what I edited -

You can basically consider everything I just said irrelevant. If there's really a majority, why bother yourselves with fresh spawns, just make a support system and constantly strive to improve each other. Trying to be "credited" for doing something pales, do it because you genuinely enjoy creating content and not glory. Set a standard and over time... perhaps even if it takes months, this place will change for the better.

And one thing - stop segregation of who is good and who isn't. I see 4 IFR groups for CR running around. Merge it all into one. Imagine the level you can reach.

Because there's no link to Main Forum Rules in IFR right now.

  You may be right here, but we never know. We'd have to try to know.

  Any good card creator never - but like, never - uses less than 100 letters in their ideas. Clearly, even simply the description takes more than that.
  Simple to decide ; any thread looking like "this is ninja he is black with shurikens he can throw a bomb and he's strong" with
  -no stats
  -no description of his attacks
  -no card interactions
  -basically nothing ; any thread under 100 characters has basically nothing in it.

  Same answer here, talking about copypaste. Just copy the words, search them on Google with quotes, and you'll find every occurence of said words. But true, you made me think of a time limit to add. I'll think of that.

  Good point, forgot to add something : As stated by rule 8, one bump can be allowed.

We're not trying to get credit. Seriously ? We're trying to help the subforum. And Mods can help us to do that. If they don't help us, we might consider trying things by ourselves, but it would waste more time.

To clarify - unspoken words in a thing. Instead of doing this, why try to change others if you apparently have a majority already? Why not use that majority to organize a system of bumping threads with constructive, new additions. Of course. Only the people in the IFR Lead Group are following my ideas. Plus, we're not doing any ideas, not hosting the CIT series showcasing the best ideas in the whole subforum, not having a Discord server, not talking about ideas in it, nothing of that indeed.


EDIT : Starting to feel tired about all of these "you guys, doing this for credit" "ifr lead group is useless" comments. I'm asking for feedback for this thread here. Not useless comments.

We have multiple discussion channels in Discord. One of them is specifically related to creating ideas. We brainstorm there. That's how the Range Spell was created (shoutout to Bluballoon and his creativity).
The CIT is not a popularity contest. Sure, there's NightmareX and you. But then ? Who knew about Rocky, Shaman, Pouch Goblin, - thsoe aren't extremely known ideas but they're here because they deserve it. I'm not voting for ideas from creators I like, and many other people are doing the same. Who would vote for a creator just because they like that creator and wouldn't even check out other ideas ? I've been getting negative feedback during the CIT I because "Fresh Spawns are not allowed to vote". Now they're allowed ; don't blame me on that.

You're being a mini mod. And a really bad one too. Enforcing rules on the general population isn't your job. I'm in a hurry rn but expect a wall of text when I find the time

I'm not the one bringing up the IFR group, you and Ligi are.
Even if I'm the only one commenting (we have 70 signatures, no need to "quote") that does not mean no one supports my ideas. I'm replying to every single comment I get, and I'm not only telling that my "followers" agree. I just want to receive feedback about this thread ; I'll make a poll to know who likes the idea and who does not. But here, I'd like feedback about the thread. Even though I'm constantly getting "I want this subforum to stay as it is".
I've been getting hate about me, about about the fact that we're only doing that to get credit, about the IFR Lead Group, about me only telling people "but my group of followers agree", about me only staying in a "comfort zone". Bottom line is if they break your rules but not them of the actual forum a mod can't do anything about it so it's pretty much pointless.

Bresn brought up the fact that all I did was saying "but my group of followers agree"
Then Ligi thought I literally said that, while I never did.

This response was made in another thread to which I will post the link below. But just go through this response op & perhaps it'll help you understand that the kind of stress people are putting on IFR state could have been dealt with as being a forumer itself and no "IFR mods" or other special monitor is needed in the IFR.

This response is a bright example of how one with little patience & perseverance can avoid not so necessary topics piling heaps of discussion. Also, I've spend adequate time in both general discussion & IFR and quality wise IFR is way better than GD and that's what should matter most in IFR. Only thing I would prefer is Supercell showing more interaction in IFR to show some acknowledgement towards the IFR card creators & frequent idea donators to show they care. Other than that I literally see no problem in IFR which one as a firumer cannot deal with. First of all this isn't the best way to get our attention and it is also not the first idea we've read along these lines either. The better route would've been to PM a moderator and see where the idea stands with us.

Fact is, this will not be implemented even when all our objections would be met (in theory) and please trust me when I say this has been subject of our discussions heaps of times through the years. Furthermore anyone taking action based on this idea will be dealt with in a disciplinary action. So that's the most serious part over with and now on to a more detailed response on our objections and difficulties with the ideas as posted.

We do all sympathise with the clutter being posted in IFR forums all around the 4 different games and we do check in occasionally and see what we can do. However we are volunteers who spend our free time on the forums to help out and often priorities can be elsewhere. The best course of action for a ruled out idea and such would be simply to report the thread using the report tool. We'll deal with them. Don't post ruled out or something along those lines as it only bumps the thread so instead let it drop naturally.

One of our objections is that if we cannot even get people to read a "simple" sticky with ruled out ideas etc then we'll never get them to read this so it will not help with the clutter. A dedicated mod for IFR forums, seems like a good idea at first however we simply know they'd be bored out of their minds within 2 months. Reading and removing the same rules out ideas every single day over and over again... That's would put anyone to sleep.

I - Thread rules:
0) We have that in place it's the trash can. Such posts will get removed completely. No one will read those closed threads and esp not the fresh spawns and the few who do read will start more threads on why such and such thread is there. Furthermore it would cost us way more time to do it this way and our time is also precious and valuable. Time we spend on this is time we can't spend elsewhere where people need our input or help. So it costs more time for a mostly wasted effort.
1) Yes, please report them
2) No, that's like giving a life sentence to someone for faulty parking. It's disproportional and we're not out to dish out more infractions.
3) Threads with less then 100 letters can still contain a good idea and yes I have an example but first a little background for those who don't remember. In CoC when shareable attack / defense replays were first added the button for the replay was the exact same green color as the donate button so everyone tried to donate to that button constantly. It was an annoyance. So the idea which was raised to "change the color of the replay button". A good idea in 100 chars or less and it was implemented!
4) yes please report them, as for the closed threads area see 0
5) a 100% copy/paste can be reported however that's as far as it goes. It's completely possible to have the same / a similar idea independently and who is to say their idea is always theirs. Maybe it was a clan mates etc. that's a can of worms we aren't going to open.
6) & 7) what is and isn't considered necromancing can be a difficult subject for some but time alone isn't a factor in this. In the main forum rules and policies forum there's an extensive post on the subject. If you feel something is necroed for no good reason then please report
8) In case of multiple bumps by the creator please report and we will deal with it
9) No, that would get even more messy. The necroed thread maybe a valid or good idea which may still be relevant. Some ideas have been floating around for years and yet I for one would still like to see them implemented but "storing" them between the ruled out and other nonsense ideas isn't the best spot for them.
10) Let's leave that up to the moderators.

II - Post Rules
0) We need more tolerance for fresh spawns around the forums. We were all new once and I'm sure we all made our newbie mistakes. It happens. And they might still have a brilliant idea. We wouldn't want somewhat complicated systems in place for people to post their ideas. 5 posts is still like having no forum experience whatsoever so it will not do all that much for IFR.
1-6) these are all examples of things which always were subject to report to us for dealing with it. In fact a response to an idea saying "this sucks" without any explanation whatsoever can be considered toxic. So I don't see how that would change much. We just need more folks to report such things to us.
7) There's no need to have a separate and different system for IFR then already is in place throughout the forums. Any of the examples listed in 1-6 can lead to disciplinary action in the form or a warning and or infraction.


So to make a very long story short. Report things which aren't up to standard in IFR and we will deal with them. The more active the community is with reporting these things the cleaner IFR will become. And basically that's all there is to it and makes a whole set of rules not necessary or wanted.
