Dont start capping troops D: what would happen if you started capping dragons? :)

Yeah. This is good :) it should be implemented
Fully agree and yeah you got a point with capping them but my biggest point about speed reduction is that if they have less speed their will be an encouraging of tactical spells like a mix of freeze spells and rage spells instead of simply heal and freeze like in that video. Anyone would copy that video because its so simple I guess and I think that I and some others would even do a 100% there with some tactic and 5-10 less hogs as they currently are.
But yeah now we got two possible solutions, either reduce their speed and engourage the use of a mixed army and mix of spells including rage spell or just cap them to force people making a mixed army :)
PS: Whoever talked about hogs not overpowered and its up to the defender to be tactical, a defender cant know who attacks him so can only defend against what he think is hardest but hogsarmy is something you cant predict how its used so there is no way to be tactical against hogs if they can be used in the way shown in the video. On the other hand an attacker can choose which opponent to attack and if there is a four square empty spot besides an xbow he can skip that base and go to another, also if you use tactic you make an army to combine and use effective with good moves, choose a target who is easy to kill with your tactic and you win because of your tactic and not because of holding down your finger and simply throwing heal spells on your units when they look damaged.
i am really wondering if author is seeing it as a fix, because it doesnt fix "deploy in 1 place and 100% a base" issue which is imo stupid because it devalues other troops.
sounds like a good idea, nice job on the stats.
Well i dont think that nerfing current levels and adding a new level for th10 with better then current hogs stats would be a good idea as that simple tactic in the video would be even harder to defend against then. So I keep up my idea about slowing them down or the sneakydave idea to make them limited but yeah that would make 1000 people to complain about other creatures.
But how about reduce cost by 10% and speed by 50% or something similar?
That finger you're pointing has three pointed back at you, Super Saiyan of Jetlife.
To speak of missing points, mine was that the video itself is not sufficient evidence of the hogs being overpowered, supported with several points other than resources. Most notably is the fact that five spells including freeze we're used, indicating that a TH9 can NOT do that to a TH10. TH9s only get four spells and Freeze is not one of them. With 4 fewer hogs the total damage output is 420dps lower, and the inferno towers would be unimpeded. The battle was close enough against 48 hogs with freezing inferno towers.
Naturally there is more to CoC than farming, but that doesn't reduce the importance of incentive. You favorite raiding party is called a "First Order Optimal" (FOO) strategy by the game industry. An unprofitable raiding party cannot be a long-term FOO strategy; elixir will run out and you'll have to resort to balanced teams sooner or later. While some are willing to wait and farm enough resources for the 60-Wizard Light And Magic Show, most players will do that once for entertainment and get back to profitable raiding strategies. The mathematics if this game incentivizes profitable raiding--or paying gems to see the Light Show.
Thinking more about the Hog Riders, I agree it anything is to be adjusted it's their speed. However, they'd be broken if they were made too slow. "Wait, what," you ask? At their current speed Hogs can outrun healers, tearing through a village while the healer flies after them, usually into something's line of fire. Meanwhile the hogs die from not being healed. If they are made too slow then healers can stick to them as they do giants, and then hogs/healers becomes the new FOO strategy for everyone.
So if Supercell's amazing math and play test resources do find hogs unbalanced, a speed reduction might do it. Speed down to 28, 24 maybe.
