Adding more spring traps would affect Giants quite a bit as well, in effect nerfing them too. This might upset some people.....unless the general consensus is that Giants are OP as well.
Imho, the best option I've seen is to just lower the hogs speed a bit.

I think this is a really good add but if you read the awesome topic about the hogs and see what we have came up to about it I actually think that this wont make it balanced enough aswell as you need free builder to keep traps coming right?
You should really watch the video aswell which is shown in that thread "fixing hog rider issue without a true nerf" that one really shows how full army of hogs can be used without any tactic at all to win against maximum protection town hall 10 base who have alot of useless very very expensive walls which means that if they wont get a nerf in the way I talked about their speed in that topic then they will most likely be more or less the only thing people wants when everyone knows how they work. This would result in every new player getting premade and at the end everybody stands with a th10, protected like a th8 and with their hogs as their only defense because good offense means good defense and if my weird theory would be true that would result in alot of people loosing their fun in this game and then stop playing it. I dont want that to happen xD
Ok I might take this a little bit over the line but my point is that when one single unit in mass production can do what they did with no actual tactic in that video then I just can't trust two more spring traps sorry. But I think that those two spring traps should be added aswell as the hogs should be changed to still be powerful but require some tactic aswell :) hope you got my point and see you around, Im a hog lover but only when I can use them a fun way with a mixed army and see how I get better and better strategies to win over people a fun way including the perfect combo of my spells, 2-5 different units and so on. I only use same strategy until I see it as perfect and then I change so I don't even want to know about something which is better then most tactics, working the way that I saw in the video!

I like this idea, not only because of the fact that it would help stop hogs, but it would also help against giants, the troop the spring trap is generally accepted to the be the most useful against (I dunno, golems maybe?)
Well last time I tried I needed builder might have been a bug then but I think the problem lies in hogs actually not in defense so either add something to slow the hogs down in defense or nerf the speed of hogs in my opinion. Also I realised that more spring traps would make it even harder to use other troops to fight and more people would like to use hogs because they are safer against spring traps then giants, golems every other land units besides pekkas...
