Getting annoyed by the trade thread (re Planks)
Ok, now first I will openly admit the trade thread cannot, and should not be regulated. It's a vehicle to contact other players where mutual agreements are made to exchange goods. Where 'typical' ratios for items change constantly due to the forces of supply and demand.
But I've noticed in recent months the return of the trend "Planks are worth more than Bolts / Tapes" belief that previously existed well over a year ago.
As developer camicami once quoted https://forum.supercell.com/showthre...67#post6724567

Globally they're all balanced. Some players get more of one item than the other, but for every group of players that gets (for example) too many bolts and too few planks, there will be a similarly sized group of players that gets too many planks and too few bolts (and other permutations of the items).
Lately, it seems farmers are trying to create something that doesn't exist, constantly put a premium on Planks which is distorting the trade market; creating an illusion that they are worth more than others - when they are not.
Basically a process where one trades non BEMs for Planks, then tries to trade Planks for twice as many Bolts/Tapes. Repeat. Market distortion getting out of control.
Did everyone forget that pretty much everyone trades SEMs and LEMs equally? Because they too are equal.
It's only my opinion, but I recommend everyone to stop falling into the trap. It's distorting our trade market; most of us are using this for mutual benefit. Not to create an illusion to benefit yourself.
