3 Reasons To ALWAYS Max Out Your Town Hall

I do think that getting TH 7 maxed, then just getting your offensive abilities maxed before you go on to th9 isn't that big a deal (or lower if your willing to raid often).

It seems like you get very little return on your investment after TH 7 for maxing towers and cannons. At least when I raid a pre-mature base with x-bows still holds its own against maxed TH 8 bases, just because of the extra towers and x-bows (note they are maxed at least to th7). It amazes me how difficult a partially premature base can be to raid.

However, personally, I still don't see a major reason to rush. With loot caps and bonuses, if you are making good loot every day - I don't see a reason I would want to upgrade for the sake of getting higher level troops which demand taking on higher level bases

I don't like to wait so my general rule of thumb is when ever you can easily save enough to go up in town hall then do it (No hard core farming or penny pinching)

This sounds like the fast track to a premie TH10! This will make it very difficult for you to upgrade your base, causing you to become frustrated and quit the game.

There is nothing wrong with this strategy if you only intend to play the game for a couple of months. A lot of people are not serious about maxing their base or getting to the upper leagues and just looking for a game to entertain them for a short period. It is a game, have fun!

If there were no loot penalty, I might agree.....

Then again, if pigs could fly....well, I guess they kind of do in this game.

Upgrading TH early - Cons...

• Loot penalty - this sucks.
• Because of loot penalty - it is harder to save for upgrades, of which, you have more to do.
• THs below you can now take more loot from you (thus making it harder for you to keep your loot).
• Cost of searching for battles costs more loot.
• Because of loot penalty you need to raise trophies to hit bases with decent loot available - higher trophies - tougher bases - tougher attacks on your premmie base (thus making it harder for you to keep your loot).

Upgrading TH early - Pros...

• Lots of shiny new low level defences (that you can't afford to upgrade).
• More walls (that you can't afford to upgrade).
• Better troops upgrades (that you can't afford to upgrade).

I know that some people skip the last few lab bits or walls so that builders don't stand idle but I'm talking about upgrading waaay to early.

Personally I've regretted every upgrade that I decided not to do if I could of done it at the town hall below (BK & lab upgrades). Its almost always easier to do it if you can at the lowest TH level possible.

tldr - you make your own life harder by upgrading your town hall too early.
