Title says it all. Should I upgrade Valks to lvl 5 or King to lvl 20? Note that if I do upgrade the king my lab will be idle. I spent the Elixir I had on upgrading another army camp to max (Still have 1 more to go yet).

I would suggest level 5 valkyrs.. keeping th10 lab idle is a bad choice.. and there is much difference between lvl 4 valks and lvl 5 valks
Valk 5 if your lab gonna idle
Valks, they're very effective at higher levels. As mentioned it's not good to have an idle lab, and you can always upgrade the king later since you've got 25 levels to go.
As others said Valks. Can't have that lab idle. Also valks are great for war at th10.Quote:

Valks. Lvl5 will curbstomp any th9 for dips in wars. Much more useful than 1 king level. Keep that lab lit up.even sprinkling 4 into your farming army can pay huge dividends as 4 raged up max valks in the core will decimate it in seconds.
I would go with valks rather than nothing in lab, and kicking yourself for getting into the situation of not being able to choose king, specially king to a new ability level. That is unless it's possible to put on a few back to back boost sessions to get the elixir for lab and then put king down, with only a couple of hours idle lab.
King to level 20. You will also get a slight boost with his Iron Fist special. If it were another level that didn't had that benefit, I would go with the Valkyrie.
Never let lab be idle.
There are only 2 mistakes in this game that cannot be salvaged except for gems:
1. Idle lab
2. Overstaying in low TH levels
It will take you 3 years to max lab, any moment your lab is asleep is another delay to that endeavor
