Drag'M: A Possible High Trophy Army

In preparation for the forum elite trophy push, I've been contemplating high trophy armies to get at least to Crystal 1. Seeing how I am TH8, several armies aren't as effective for me, and GoWipe takes a bit more time than could work for me. An army that I've heard have variable success is all minions, but the cost in DE and time isn't appealing to me.

I considered using test's army, but I cannot fit a golem into the CC and using a Pekka would take considerably longer. Therefore, I thought of an aerial version.

In the army camps: two dragons and eighty minions, the clan castle should be a trump card(usually aerial) .

The army takes 30 min and two barracks are free for donations. It costs 72k elixir and 720 DE with level 4 minions.

I haven't tried it yet, but will try it just as soon as I finish my last few upgrades at TH8. The biggest destruction to it that I see is centralized air bombs(which appear to be fairly rare) or focused wizard towers.

I wanted to join forum elite but they haven't responded :(

I feel like they would get taken out way to fast from air defenses without giants / pekkas / etc to take them out. Then again I only take 20 minions in fights with me so I'm sure 80 will be capable of handling a lot. Might not be a bad idea to take a healing spell or two with you in the event that they get pinned by a wizard tower like you said, don't want one or two wizard towers ruining your entire attack

Dragons tank damage, and since you can make 4 dragons and still keep the 30 min training time, that is what I'd suggest

The just steer clear of high level wizard towers that the drags can't keep occupied.

That and high lvl teslas are like bug zappers, otherwise some spells and minions are pretty strong

Well one shot from an AD will kill any minion, and if they're far enough away, it'll shoot two at the same one, so ADs will usually be taken out fairly easily in swarms. I planned for spells to use two heal(so they can constantly be replaced with the raiding time) and a rage as a trump card like the CC.

I'll experiment with the dragons, and see if I can get back to you on which amount is ideal(I think with four there'd be too much inability to deal with high level ADs, but like I said I haven't tried it yet and will have to check)

I have heard that balloons and minions are successful, so drag minion may work too. Considering throwing some balloons into the mix if you have them leveled up.

It's interesting that you mention that, as I have tried many variations of balloons, and have concluded that balloons at level five aren't effective enough for high trophy gameplay. It's not so much the air defenses that bring them down, but also the other air targeting defenses that destroy balloons. I may use five level six balloons in the CC as a trump card ,however.

Trouble with drag/minion is you have nothing targetting weapons. If u choose the wrong base, the dragons can be distracted by other buildings while the weapons pick them off. Personally I would persevere with balloons rather than dragons

From my experience the dragons can occupy an AD, then mass minions at it. This works well for me with 6 drags and 40 minions.


Really AD aren't a big deal to minions in my experience. Yes about any level one-shots them but they fire too slow to be the biggest threat on the field. Wizard towers are an absolute bane, however. High level teslas can also shred a force of minions, without a tank. I've been screwed a few times when I tried to deploy a couple of minions hear a TH only to find 4 teslas. After trying to recover from it, I find I wasted my 40 minions and they just got tore apart


X-Bows can be troublesome but you can find people who point them down.

Personally, I prefer Ballon and Minion for higher up in trophies. Also carry lightning, hero, and CC incase you are just away from 50%
