The loot bonus at Champion League is also causing me to get de too fast, even with the minimal raiding I'm doing.

What boatland army did you usually use at bh4? I'm currently using giants and archers which is so-so.
At bh4, I just made sure my base was really hard to 2-star. Either they can destroy the town hall and not much else, or they go from other side and take out most of my base but can't take out th.
Then I just make sure I get a higher % 1-star than they do. I usually used all archers, or 1 camp space of barbarians (10 barbs) to tank and the rest archers. Not very elegant, but worked for me. I got pretty good at picking off trash buildings with minimal amount of units.
But I hear having high level archers and giants works really well at bh4 to get 2 or 3 stars. I was so focused on getting the baby d to lvl8 that I couldn't spare any elixir to upgrade the giants and archers.
