Leader can set clan governing type

If you really want to set up some new and exciting social features, let leaders select governing types for the clan. These settings then create varying rank types.

Dictatorship - Leader, cos, elders (current system).

Democracy - clan yearly votes on leader and quarterly on co leader positions. Elders remain the same unless promoted to leaders. Leaders set elders but not other leaders. Different ranks votes have more weight than others. Only can cast single votes.

Socialist - no one promotes anyone. Game automatically promotes players after a certain amount of time (elder = 4 months, co = 8 months, leader changes between cos each month).


Something like that anyway.

Again, leaders would have to set these governing types themselves. You have to have one and default is dictatorship. I think this would really make the social aspect of the game much more interesting.


Additional ideas. War loot based on government types:

- dictatorship - leader gets max loot then it is disseminated based on rank.

- democracy - you get what you earn (I know capitalism isn't in all democracies but you get the point)

- socialism - regardless how you did in war, everyone gets the same loot.

Terrible idea....Leader must be untouchable.! As the leaders (COs as well) should vote/demote/promote (as now).
For example we usually give temporary elder for whos want to invite someone from global...also when a CO leaving the clan to visiting their sister clan he shouldnt lose CO when they rejoin they main.

Right, so your clan would run as dictatorship. Leaving the game exactly as it is. Governing type would be a conscious choice made by the leader. If in a different type, a player moves into leader, they can set it to any other type.

In our clan (nearly 4 yrs old) except 2 COs nobody are founding members so I would feel unfair if a clan would be vulnerable by a system/others.

We are already running the democracy kinda thing in one clan. There are some co's that earned it by being active and long to clan (couple years). We changed a leader more than few times, because the current leader had a lot of stuff to do and didnt have time for game. If someone​ would ask to be a Leader, I think he would get it. So we already have democracy, no need to add the system.

There is no need for a change to the game to implement any of this though, a clan leader can already choose how they want the clan to be run.

True but this would also be a viewable option so you knew what you were getting into when joining a clan.

If someone relies so much at this (leader), he would put that to description of clan, that his clan is democracy.

Probably true, although I never see much beyond clan war type and TH requirements in descriptions. Just trying to think of a way to spice up the social aspect of the game. Seems degraded at this point. It would be interesting to see democracy ran clans and leader changing hands based on clan voting and what would happen after. Or the effectiveness of socialist clans. We already know about dictatorship style. How often would new leaders try to just seize control and switch to dictatorship? What would members of the clan do of that happened?

I think that social stuff in game shouldnt evolve too much...
Also, 1 year of functioning season is too much. I think 2 months would be awesome for it.

I would be interesting if there were a clan log too. Showed list of leaders. What level the clan was when they started, win-loss record under that leader. # of players that came in, left, were booted, # demoted, promoted. Stuff like that.

You yave all these abilities now. Run it how you want it. And sure, pick any of the above. Its up to you to find the guys you can trust enough to do it with you.

You can give leader to who ever you want. Just don't be surprised if they don't give it back/pass it on.

It would be attractive to have an option to vote, some form of voting would be fun for a passage time during a troop formation, or even a search to select an elder or when the clan is 50/50 complete and eventually some participants are not to participate In war on certain dates, and the number of participants is strange, to vote for a member to stand as a spectator would be very fair.

I see enough post about "our leader is inactive what do we do" that I thought the democracy or socialist type would help in those situations. Add some variety to clans.

Another great idea. Enough of the clan would have to choose a "coup". A certain % of the clan would have to 3 star the leaders base or maybe 80+% 2 star it. If the % is achieved then:

- in dictatorship, highest level player in the coup assumes leadership.

- in democracy, immediate revote occurs.

- in socialism, immediately moves to next senior co.

In all cases, leader is denoted to member.

you are forgetting that the founder (almost always the leader) paid for that clan. Its his property and not for others to take away.

Must not have read the post. Clan defaults to current game meta. Leader would HAVE to choose to change the gov type. Yes coup circumvents that whole thing but it's not real property, or you couldn't get banned by SC. Either way, without coup, I think it would be interesting socially for the game and could actually become educational for kids on different government types.

There are some stuff in social that need to be changed like chat. Should add messaging, some people thinks it leads to bulling but I think it will make that stuff better!

it is too real property. Sorry.

As far as coupless, I dont think any of this is well thought out. The bottom line is if they did that guys would be swiping clans right and left. Dont kid yourself, it would happen a lot.

this would lead to the end of clans because no one but leaders and co would stay in clans and new clans to be formed which would fall a part. No more clans wars well almost the end.
If you think about it, this idea if implemented would lead to a big problem

yes, I do see that.
And trolls would have a field day. The forum would fill up with their victims.

It is very easy for the benevolent dictator to run a supervised democratic or socialist system.

The benevolent dictator is a stable system when all members are free to leave at will.

No, in a smooth running war dominant clan. Just putting ideas out there to see the responses. See enough complaints (this one geared more toward the "my leader stopped playing can we take over the clan") and everyone just belittling them, so why not try to some up with out of the box ideas.

In that way it makes sense, but why would you have to take it over? Co leaders can do everything leader can do except demote a fellow Co.

True but in some of the cases I've seen on here, cos have left and it's elders in a high clan with inactive leader.

And it does impact recruiting if the leader is inactive. Even worse if he left himself in opt in status.
