I don't know how many hundreds of times I have dropped a Lightning spell on top of my troops, with zero damage to them, while they are clashing with Clan Castle troops.

those who claim they have witnessed lightning spells wiping out troops... i made 5 lighning spells and bombarded giants and balloons while attacking and it did no damage
Nope not at all. Would be pointless if it did
a mistakenly casted lightening spell killed my 10 giants instantly in a clan match 30 minutes ago. THis can be software bug though: several enemy wizards nearby inside the wall were killed by the same lightening spell too.
