Odds are it will be a Monday or Tuesday (15th/16th)
if they are worried about bugs etc and need to fix them it makes more sense to drop it early in the week and watch how it rolls out over the week.
Just my thoughts though.

No date was given for this reason. A little longer can easily turn into a lot longer if a bug pops up.

Gilligan's island, how long did it take them to repair a boat?

On Gilligan's Island, did Gilligan ever get his boat seaworthy? They had a professor who could build a radio with two coconuts and a shoe string. So why couldn't they patch a couple of holes in a boat hull? Maybe boats take a lot more skill and craftsmanship to be deemed seaworthy than us land lovers thought.
What will it take for Super Cell to repair a boat? More importantly, How long will it take? Share your thoughts about repairing sea craft.

I'm sure they could have repaired S. S. Minnow fairly quickly, but that would make for a short T.V. series.

Since the boat can be available at lower Town Halls, maybe a few days or a week to repair.

So I've been digging through the source code of kunlun's update teaser landing page (kunlun is CoC's licensee in China) (thanks to a reddit post making me want to try this myself. If you want the reddit post, it's here) (Website link here: http://coc.kunlun.com/newworld/) and it's pretty interesting.
First, there are 5 empty boxes, from which we can assume there are 5 more teasers coming.
After I went into the code, I found the images which will represent the next few teaser videos:
1st video was the initial release of the ship. 2nd video was the first captain's log.

5th video image: http://prntscr.com/f50ogh
6th video image: http://prntscr.com/f50oiv
There doesn't seem to be an image for the last video as of yet.
Note that none of this is confirmed, just some speculation/digging on my part.

No, that was a different fake leak.
This one seems fake as well though. The army camp, for example, seems very off - why add 6 spaces to each camp when every camp upgrade since level 2 has added only 5?

I don't think it's necessarily faked. This seems to go along with the image of the barbarian holding an axe. And the axe seems to go with the theme that Chaz was conveying about reinventing themselves. And the button is in the same location as the attack button. That would be a new way to play and definitely would be something huge.

It just sounds pretty weak to change the way they are launching it at the last minute.
So far it sounds like we get another village (my clan's reaction : groan)
where we play in dark mode with troops carrying torches (:why?!)
where there will be pvp (the 2 guys who like that play CR)
and maybe in its spare time the ship will bring resources (big whoopty do)
we might get the ice wiz (most weren't impressed)
we may get a new troop in the dark land (if we need it for war on our main, we'll be peeved to have to lvl up the other base for it)
What we want : FC fixed so we can move traps & still test. Being able to FC the previous war.
so far, the longer this takes, the less we care.
most want sneak peaks, or at least written details of what is new when the update comes out.

Stop blaming for the late update
1)They are trying to let most people know about the upcoming update.Believe me not even 50%of the people even know that there is any update coming
2)It Is because of only those ingame notification atleast those
50 %people know about it
3)This is the best way any company would release their update
4)So this update would definitely bring a flood of people back In to the game

Am I the only one intrigued by the background of the image? It's like there's water and some sort of island. It doesn't appear to be what's just off the shores in the current game. Perhaps the button signifies the multiplayer mode in a new area.

Exactly my thoughts sneak peeks won't reach many people as compared to ingame notification
And about delay it's always better to have bug free update so chill guys gather some loot and be ready for update when it drops 😎

Pure speculation here. 11th of May is a Thursday. I doubt they would release such a big update on Friday before the weekend in case of bugs etc. This means the earliest we could see it is the 15th of May. PURE SPECULATION.

It is very likely that we will NOT be seeing sneak peeks for this update - hence the change of update status to radar.

What we know aboat the update:

Not Town Hall 12.
No level 13 walls.
Its unique from any update, and it's huge.
There will be no new hero levels in this update.
There will be a boat that needs repairing.

i am guessing it is very similar to the clan castle.....wrecked and ruined at the beginning and then rebuild it and upgrade it......sc loves these.....see in boom beach they first put a ruined hero hut which u rebuild to get ur heroes.

i am guessing its function will not be very different from the submarine in boom beach.....but they say its gonna be bigger than even the clan war update so i am guessing it does a whole lot more than that.

PS- why didnt sc release captains log day 2 after day 1? Suspicious aint it?

Sure, why not? First of all, what you have to do is open your "clash of clans" and click on the boat. After you click on the boat, it will lead you to a video. Watch that video over and over again till the update releases. By the way, I went through your posts and found out that this was not the first time you asked about the boat. So, have some patience till the release of update. We both can sail in Trishuli river together.

I saw a video by galadon yesterday.....it showed a supposedly leaked image in chinese language that showed troops getting out of a ship with torches in hand and it is night.....so maybe night mode? And a way of attacking a village thrpigh the sea?

Yes they might have a date but they cant say what it is because anything can happen before then like google or apple is delaying something or they find a bug before and if they don't deliver imagine the uproar so they won't give a time
