To OP - The update is 'significantly massive/huge'. Please do acquire the patience needed to wait until it is finished. Apparently it will be only in May, so I would suggest waiting another few weeks.

Rather they get it right first time and release everything without bugs. Not like the Boom Beach team who throw together an update and release it without testing. They do this every time *eyeroll* but the CoC team is far better at testing their updates. So lets give them time. There's no rush anyway is there? Unless you're a max TH11 - but if you are, then hey, you can always carry on with your life while waiting! You don't have to sit on this forum pressing refresh every 5 seconds ;)

IMO i believe that SC/MODs over hyping this update, from SC point of view this could be massive/huge/unique and this is what they do for every big updates, from the company point of view they have to do this to bring in more players & keep the existing players more interesting, can be called even as a marketing strategy.

But as far as community/individual player concerned this might backfire SC as Dec'15 update, as a Community/individual player we are speculating many things for this update & logically all speculations not gonna be there, even if this update is massive still there will be unhappy players due to high expectations.

Few players have played the update by now, so won't it be easier for SC to just give the details what to expect from this update?

Every thing can't be liked by all! But the thing is it should be liked by majority!

Clan wars are what defines the game. Without wars most other things like building a clan or farming heroes is pointless. I doubt that SC could make something that has a bigger impact on the game. It may be more work, contain more stuff, but clan wars was by far the most important change.

of course every thing can't be liked by all, but what if majority don't like this update as Dec'15 update? it's all bcoz of high expectations and hype

Good timing for me. I fully maxed a few weeks ago and have been playing less and less since then.

I think that the update is just around the corner.

Too many peoples have alredy seen the new update: mods, youtubers, etc. etc.

Its impossible to keep it secret for many days.

clan wars is just one optional mode of playing the game. We do not know what is coming, but if it is a fourth mode and if it is as exciting as several reliable key players are describing it to be, then this is a welcome change for many players who got bored of the existing modes of the game.

So much hype wow...i just hope the update is as big as the magnitude of the hype it has got ,otherwise SC will be responsible for the disappointment even if the update is a decent one..comparing the update with clan wars update is the biggest hype this update can get as we all know how much war means to a clash player and how big the war update was in terms of changing the gameplay and adding a new dimension to the game which is loved by most players if not all.

So still two to three weeks away from being two to three weeks away? :p

I kind of don't want the update, as it might end the balloon meta which I'm currently enjoying. But new features...

This update must be something for everyone that has seen it to be this excited. I can't wait to play it myself whenever it does come out. In the mean time I have things to do in my village. I'm glad SC is taking its time with it!

Clan wars is the new game mode that cemented it in the top spots of the app and play store. And SC claims that this update makes clan wars look like a Prius next to a Ferrari, in other words a much bigger update. This is really overwhelming for most of the community as "massive" might not be the correct term to it anymore. If this update is a new game mode(which I'm expecting it to be), it will surely breathe the game back to life as it's been dead since 2012.

As it goes, hope for the best, expect for the worst since SC called the shots and the community's expectations skyrocketed.

Well I do recall there was someone who did leak out stuff after viewing the code and they were right, so if we go off of this info, then I would almost say that the ship and radio are tied to how Boom Beach map and Communications Tower, are. And by that, I mean that you upgrade the radio tower to expand the map, and now we can use the ship to travel to areas and either farm resources, find more goblin campaigns, etc.

The mods are basically the SC representatives here as they are the ones who have played the update already aside from a few youtubers

The game has been dead since 2012 is simply my way of mocking those "the game is dead" threads when it's nowhere close to that.

sc is still working at the update as they said a few days ago so its not ready and i think it could be june when something goes wrong ....

I think the next update will about some sort of alliance wars, where 2 or 3 clans will form an alliance to war against another clans. Its like Allied vs Axis of WWII.

Its much bigger than the current clan wars and its huge (probably 100 vs 100 or 150 vs 150)

Don't get overhyped ppl.

The most probably major change will be tournaments for clans.... for big chunk of the update.

The second thing as already hinted in first post will be the boat

The last most probably 2-3 new units with some tweaks maybe to keep us happy .....

And that is.... trust me ... there won't be much more that that.

I'm really hoping this update will bring a new feature that allows clans to earn xp towards perks without having to suffer through the horrible clan war matchups with engineered clans... It's getting a bit ridiculous. You shouldn't need to put so much effort into calculating war weights and setting upgrade priorities just to get a decent matchup. Kinda takes the fun out of war.

"biggest update ever" has me a little worried, I am really liking the game right now, and in general, I'm not a big fan of change (spaghetti everyday for dinner fine by me lol) . However, I have liked just about every update that they have released, so I try to curb my nerves and hope they hit the mark again.

Maybe because instead of 2 clans fighting each other now will be probably involved 10-16-20 clans which ones figth for the first place?

In development perspective it's a huge undertaken compared to the clan wars.

Though it's still speculation followed by resent time events with guessing that the tournaments will be exactly the update they talk about

imo tournament mode isnt needed or do you like a tournament with highly engineered clans?
we need better matchmaking and something new in the game

My speculation on the update release timing:
The visitors in Finland were able to play a live build of the update, something that other youtubers whom have signed the NDA have not had the chance to play yet. This means they have a beta of the update, which indicates it is close to completion.
Furthermore, Galadon's twitter, he says "See you soon my friend!" to several CoC youtubers who have signed the NDA. This implies that the big youtubers will be traveling to Finland soon.
My prediction: In the next couple weeks, we will see the big youtubers traveling to Finland to meet with Supercell, and around that time the sneak peeks will start.
Just some tinfoil hat work; I'm probably wrong but thought it would be fun to get my theory afloat.

I tend to think the update hypes in previous days gone by have been over exaggerated. But this time around, there is definitely something in the air about this update.... We've got SC staff saying its massive, and nothing like previous updates, we've got mods saying it makes clan ways look like a Prius compared to a Ferrari and we've got the biggest hint yet in the opening comments of this thread that a boat/ship is involved....

We know that its not a new TH. The general consensus appears to be that it involves a new game mode of sorts.

I for one can't help but feel that this update is a game changer for clash and I cannot wait :)

Will I be disappointed if it does not live up to its hype? Slightly. Will I continue playing? Of course :)

"Clash with Ash" did an "Update" speculation video a couple of days ago (on his youtube). There was no real substance there as you would expect. He has played the game with the new update features. I was, however, struck by one thing he said. He said, and I'm paraphrasing here:

"I still think some will prefer Clan Wars, a lot will I'm sure"

It was clear from the conversation that this will be some sort of new game mode. It could be 2v2 or team battles of some sort but maybe something more expeditious than clan wars, as part of a team. If my speculation is near the mark that would certainly be welcomed.

I'm most excited about naming my boat (and maybe this will stop people from asking SC about adding another name change) and hope that it will be another clan activity similar to war....maybe build a group village or have one on one clan attacks....can't wait for the update!!

As a maxed player with nothing left to do this would be my list:

Finish off TH11: Air Sweeper and traps get one final level. Barbs, Archers, Gobs to lvl8, Healer to 5, and maybe even give Pekka a new level (6). Rage to lvl6 and jump to lvl4. Walls lvl12 - 300 pieces and BK/AQ to lvl50.

Add a few more dark spells; Float - to get ground troops over traps, Tornado - to knock air traps out for air troops.

Add a dark based looter that can get over walls. Add the giant skeleton which would serve as a medium level meat shield then upon death would be like a super wall breaker.

War weight changes - Add weight to camps, labs, spell factorys, and heros.

Clan War Leagues! One month and three month intervals. Complete with stat leader boards and trophies that could go in a clan trophy case on clan profile. Leagues could be computer generated or user made. Rosters and bases frozen at start of season.

Allow more options while clouding. Donating, war spectating, and friendly battles would be a start.

Allow switching of multiple accounts in settings would make life easier as well 👍

I am fully maxed as well so always curious to what the update will bring. I do NOT just want new levels of things but rather new features, polish, rework things less useful, and new ways to play the game.

It is exciting that SC is putting so much work into the game but I will reserve the hype until I know whats coming. Something to look forward to in what sounds like the next 2-3 weeks.

All the clashers believe that ship is coming but does anyone know what will it be used for? I might be wrong but i think is maybe while farming instead of clouds we'll be traveling via ship or maybe we'll have separate village inside the ship.;).

well i did not know about the boom beach system but either way its a great addition if it is coming. but i have just 1 question why do supercell leave useless codes in the game when the thing is not in the game.

I am max everything except walls. I quit a month or so ago after re-maxing everything from the balance update. This update better bring it because I wont be coming back if this is all just a bunch of ♥♥ hype.

supercell must change the ToS if they would add the ship to switch between multiple accounts on one device


you can switch easily your accounts via ingame settings as a android user but you will get no support if you have problems whils switching accounts

Bored to death waiting... Still nothing of substance just idle speculation. Both clans I am in are waiting for any sort of news to know what to do/not do as far as upgrades. Anything that will change war matching...

Went ahead and upgraded my max th9 but not adding anything new until I see if engineering that is screwing war matches is addressed. Highly doubt it or the fix will backfire so time to jump on the engineer train maybe.

Completely disappointed in the the continued failure of Supercell in communication with its fan base. How could a company be so (formerly) successful with such horrible customer service.

Oh yeah. The player base made the game great in it's prime. How about some love for those who have stuck it out and TALK to us? Give us something besides idle speculation, please!

An update with being able to switch accounts with the boat could hardly be called "massive". Everyone with multiple accounts can already switch now. Besides that it has always been against the TOS, not everyone has more than one account. So, for those with a single account, not only would the update be less than "massive", it would be useless.

I wonder what the boat will do?

I wish they would just give us clues on what the ship does. I think the ship will be like the clan castle, maybe it links us with friendly clans? Or is it to enter a new game play? But we enter clan wars through an icon not through a building. Who knows just get the update live.

So hopefully I don't get crucified for asking this (though I'm sure one of you will) but when Lach updates the status on this thread will he just update the first post on here or will he post a reply that I'll have to dig through the pages to find?

Again when did SC say there is a ship in this update? This "ship" was rumored in the Septober update and never came.

But as mentioned elsewhere in this post changing villages cannot be a massive update. After all a good number of mods have already played the update from what could be made out from the last day's live telecast. So forget about the whole boat/ship idea and wait for that update.

N.B- But I do believe there's​ something to do with a boat, after all Lach just made that "aboat" statement😁

They can do similar to what they did with the lavahound if I remember right and leak very small portions with "I smell fireworks!"

It would be interesting to see some easter eggs, like we saw with the CR march update.

I was thinking that maybe each clan will get their own village. All clan members can build and contribute to this village. Then clans will be able to join alliances and the alliances can have wars with rosters of clan villages.

My guess is that the boat icon will be to switch between the player village and the clan village.

SC can't release a really massive update right?! I mean CoC is a really matured game after all. You can't just upload new codes and change the whole game. Maybe apart from the usual war attacks and farming attacks there might be a new method of gameplay. Something like a story mode or similar where the basic catch will be looting either resources or trophies anyway.

What a tasty thread this has turned out to be. Unfortunately still only the two things are confirmed. I sure hope the update is released before Memorial Day.

In galadon's latest video he said that tomorrow we will talk more about clash of clans update and my helsinki trip..By saying that, does he want to say that the sneak peak will come tomorrow?

Boat is leaked in November 😁 and after that every leak is about boat. Isn't it strange?. I think boat is just a cover, SC is trying to hide something massive other than this and maybe they are just releasing tweaks about boat to just distract us from other things. ( MAYBE)

I have created an account just to say that this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen on youtube.

My hunch is it's team attack where 2 of more attack the same base either simultaneously or one by one.

They have hyped it so much it has to be big, if it's not they will lose a lot of players. I think sc are holding a mega torpedo loaded ace up their sleeve.

supercell must MIGHT/CAN/WOULD change the ToS(JUST AS QUICK AS I EDITED YOUR POST)) if they would add the ship to switch between multiple accounts on one device


you can switch easily your accounts via ingame settings as a android user but you will get no support if you have problems whils switching accounts

And changing the TOS can be changed quicker than I/we/you can swap accounts on an Android device.

So whilst I don't think (if there is indeed a ship) it would be used for account switching, YOU can't actually be sure "This will never happen".
On a lighter note is there any speculation/idea that anybody has come up with that you have not dismissed..Just wondered.
