Alright, lets get this straight and paus the hype train for a second.
What does it mean, what do we have to do, how does it work? We're all wondering this.

So, the first things that comes to mind, and looking at the replies here:

1. Beeing able to actually "un-build" your buildings
This would be completely counter-productive and mainly interesting for those looking to tailor their wieght.
Not likely.

2. "Un-build" / destory enemy buildings

4. Un-build.. uncover... reveal!
When you "un-build" something, you take it apart. You go backwards. You uncover and reveal.
Maybe that's what it's all "aboat". Our new SS Smolson will take us somewhere, where we have to spend our time and effort in a Clash of Clanly manner, to uncover the secrets of this place. How? I don't know. But along the way we'll get this achievement done. Step by step. Maybe "removing" an enemy territory and make it our own? I don't know, but it's exciting.
This would be my current best guess

Seems to me the boat will be able to be upgraded/customized. Part of this could be finding new parts out in the water or other lands. It could involve disassembling the things we find out there.

This update has been said to be "huge" because the update will bring something to supplement the clan war experience. Some sort of battles. A player will not be able to be in clan war and the new battle at the same time. The new battles will take place in the new location with certain "different" troops that are not generally available inside of normal barracks. And there will be rewards too. Stay tuned.

Thanks to Supercell for a broken boat which led to a teaser that put me hear trying to figure out what is coming. Sad that after 3 evenings of reading we only have what Lach's original texts omit's from the update. We also know that there are 2 screen shots that are real, one is cropped. I believe the two screenshots are the button with the two axes and the repaired boat with the change village screen. Thoughts anyone?

There will be new style of battle introduced in this update. In the new style, buildings can be bought and upgraded fast. Upgrades will be fast and armies trained faster. The damage done to bases will stay unless repaired. Resource production will be key then. As armies are trained from resources. Basically it will be like AOE. Stay tuned.

nice guess. I have thought for awhile there will be a goblin aspect to the new phase. Perhaps we will need to destroy a goblin something I order to build our own.

That's only for new defenses. When you upgrade a defense that's already in the village, you can cancel the upgrade midway.

Just as builders construct things - they also dismantle them.

My best guess it that we find new territory. Within that territory is a lost civilisation. Lots of old buildings/temples that need clearing to make way for more advanced constructions. We therefore have to clear the path, much like clearing the obstacles.

We may also find some new 'troops' in the form of some prehistoric creatures which have evolved over time within this civilisation.....

Mon 15th - #6 - Best Captain

3) New Clan War mode
We get a new clan war mode, one that happens in real time and is multi user. Players sign up by clicking on the boat in their game, add troops and spells to use for one attack. Perhaps the size of the battle is set to 5, 10 etc players, like clan war. Then you are matched with another clan, the same size. You sail to an island where both clans land on each side of the island and then start a 3(?) minute war, where all players participate simultaneously. One big battle that allows for tactics to be used (one player responsible for one troops type, or part of field etc). Maybe a large island hosting 10 clans and each clan try to build defences against them.

See this Screenshot - its 2 players vs 1 base or sort of co-op clan village? Notice that two players are playing like chess game against 1 base. Could be two players (or clans) deploying troops for control of a neutral village.

This seems to go along with the image of the barbarian holding an axe. (Picture) And the axe seems to go with the theme (Leaked Pic) (Another leaked) (Bad leaked pic) that Chas was conveying about reinventing themselves. There is no clan battle button and the axe button is in the same location as the attack button. That would be a new way to play and definitely would be something huge.

Regarding update

The new update will introduce a new gameplay mode wherein players will be able to start a base from scratch and build and upgrade everything fast and will be able to attack each other's base. These bases are only temporary and nonexistent after battle is over. There will be new "style" of troops in these battles. Anyone who has played Age of Empires will be able to relate.
