Yes it will be importing (more like stealing) loot from across the ocean every eight hours, no you can't see it doing the job just like tapping the elixir pumps it's done by just pressing the button.

If all it does is get you a few extra gems or other resources every 8 hours and it isn't interactive (you actually do the raiding, special task) it will be the biggest blunder in COC.
