2vs2 won't work in COC because the game is balanced around being very precise -- something you couldn't coordinate with anither person without a lot of planning.
CR is balanced around delayed reactions by opponents so its easy to play with teammates foe the same reason.
whats the connection of not returning and 2v2 ?
if there is a relation then you ask them to remove wars + multiplayer match making :p
cuz it's same with both of these too..you can't return bach to attack if you lose connection or got a call and had to pick it up ..

I'm thinking it could be more like Boom Beach task force ops. Different groups of villages for the clan to attack in an operation to gain clan XP and rewards. SC already has the core coding so it would be possible to port over to CoC. Reward amounts could be based clan size, op difficulty and amount of total destruction or star points achieved.
So much speculation...so much hype..but nothing substantial info yet..just wow:)
you said without a lot of planing , i am assuming you are taking it as we have multiplayer match making .. ? like we got 30 sec of scout tym and then 3 min of attack tym...
what my suggestion is making it as a mini war kinda thing . like have 15-20 min of prep tym(in that tym you'll see opponent base/profile of both opponents, then you'll fill cc according to there there profile like what they have in maxed for there th lvl and etc , and also plan for attack ) and 5 min of attack tym.
and for communication , for planing you can use clan chat (in-game feature to communicate) and for communication while attacking , if you want to communicate you can use other communication apps like whatsapp , fb, etc.
about that delayed reaction , well this can be a reason of not implementing it but i guess this feature would be alot fun and at least worth a try ( not actually implemented but test it in dev built )
I think the update is real close now . There is a pattern , before every update psychic octopus wakes up then update drops in 1 or 2 weeks
