Colonies and Piracy a new way to play the game!!! A MUST READ
Ok so we have all heard people going on and on about building ships and sailing bla bla blablala and so on. So I have devised the most intricate version of them all! Well at least to my knowledge.
So at say... TH 6 or TH 7, you get a message from your secret lover i mean friend saying "chief! Are wizards have found a way to cross the waters using wind!" This allows you to build many new buildings. All will be explained as time goes on.
Harbor: Basically a ship army camp, this is where your ships will dock and drop off the spoils.
Ship Yard: Basically a ship barracks, guess what it does? OMG yes it builds ships you are so smart.
Lighthouse: Much more complicated, it decreases the time it takes for your ships to return. Also decreasing the time they are able to get attacked, which is while there on water sailing back.
Now for the explanation if the Colonies. So what these are is your own secret island, you start off with one of these, you can get more or expand your current one by moving up in the TH ranks. And here's the kicker, the real reason why you would even bother with this at all. When you set sail the first time its a tutorial and leads your fleet if ships to a island. Another message from your... Friend... Will appear that says "CHIEF! We've found a uninhabited island! And according to the head wizard it is rich with resources!" What does this mean? Only the single reason to come.
On your beloved colony. Mines, pumps, and drills produce twice as much! Great right! But there's a big catch, that brings us to piracy >: ) almost. So in order to upgrade the resource buildings you put down, you must ship resources or use the resources they produce to do it. Now if you ship resources to your colony, or if you ship resources back to your base for upgrades. It allows a pirate to attack your ships, to steal 40% of it and the rest is sunk into the ocean :0 but have no fear. This is when the war stuff starts. Every bodies like "oh yah."
Now there are 2 different types of ships.
Cargo Ships: that carry your resources, there basically cross sea storages.
War Ships: they can either defend your cargo ships, or be used for piracy and attack other fleets. Note they can't carry any loot, so you will still need to bring cargo ships even on a piracy mission.
How navel warfare works. Now when you send a convoy you can leave it unintended or be watching over it. If your watching over it when your attacked (if you are attacked) then you can command how your ships move on the battlefield. Otherwise they'll just use AI to move around and attack. But piraters have to be on because how it works is exactly like match making. You go to the attack tab, and right next to it you can choose to find a convoy to attack. You will see how well defended it is, but before you can fire a shot at the enemy you must wait 30 secs to catch up. Then its fire or leave.
Other large details. It cost twice as much to find a convoy as it is to find a base match. Ships work exactly like troops, once there used in battle thats it, so don't under it over protect your convoys.
