Use a Freeze spell.

Would make traps useless, no need for a spell like this.

Use a Poison spell to damage Clan Castle troops, an Earthquake spell to damage buildings, Lightning spell for both.
Anything else the Mud spell could bring to the game that has originality and isn't too powerful?
I'm highly amused at how many people are so against a spell that slows defenses down, claiming that a freeze spell does the same thing. Last I checked freeze spells stop defenses entirely.
Add a spell to the game that slows things down or use one that already exist that stops things completely? There's also the Poison spell that slows opposing troops down and reduces their attack damage. What would be the benefit of adding a spell when there's already something more effective?
How about a "Daze spell"
Mud spell feels relevant for ground only, however a misty Daze spell to slow defences and troops within and radius.
When I saw your Threa title, I thought it was going to be related to the miners or bowlers.
Can't really dig your way out of mud.
Or bowl your way through.
Neither troops look like swimmers :)
