I've played since day one & NEVER had volume on!
lol, I have trained herd dogs, I'm sure they'd go crazy hearing virtual farm animals!
I don't really know of anyone who farms with the sound on, so I was wondering: if it is not a popular option, why not re-vamp it?
I've always farmed with the music off. I used to farm with the "sounds" on. I like the bird song and some of the animal noises. I also enjoy the tranquility of the fishing area. However, the sounds the town visitors make and the sounds that the shops make are a total turn-off. I haven't had the sound on since I opened my town.

On the 1% of the time I accidentally put the sound on.

I don't even know if I dislike the music or sound effects, just like how I can peacefully farm away and still watch whatever is on TV or listen to the crazy stories my 6 yo comes up with.
While I prefer sound and music off my grandson likes all the sounds when he plays his farm, especially the animals (pets, cows) and the WOF truck.
I like to make good use of my ears. On...always on. 1/3 of the way up.
Why not just mute it? All games come with sounds...ear candy :)Quote:

Every now and then I turn the sound on, but just for a few minutes or to hear a new feature or animal that has been added, but most of the time the sound is off, it is just to repetitive.
I usually have the sound effects on at the lowest setting but not the music.
I like the the sounds of the machines when you load them and the boat and train sounds. But the animal sounds can get a bit tedious. And the visitors! Farm visitors are bad enough. But the town visitors! Sheesh!
No sound here. I even make my mother-in-law turn it off when we are together. Holy annoying!
(FTR, this applies to all games. I make my nephew turn the sound off on his games as well).

Sounds I change depending on where I am & what I'm doing.
I would like more control over which sounds are on & which are off though.
Usually on when in the privacy of my home.
How else would I know when my cows at fully satisfied.
They Moo so contently.
And my chickens.
They cluck in such a warm manner.
And the whole Taylor Swift country themed music takes me back to her early days where you often heard the banjo featured in her music *le sigh*
I definitely recommend farming with sound on for true HayDay experience. How else would you farm?

The sound is on and low 95% of the time. I like to hear the animals. Not so much the people or music.
Sound off, usually. Sometimes though, I will see something about a certain sound something makes and I gotta check for a moment :P

I have the music turned off permanently (on all my games, find it irritating) but play with the farm sounds on as I find it helps gives atmosphere. I like having the in-game option to turn it off though, as sometimes it could be annoying or disturbing for others in the room. And I turn it off if I play hay day when I'm looking after my grandkids and they're playing so they don't know what I'm doing lol! 😊😊😊
