Jeepers Creepers...

These two are going to drive me insane! :D:facepalm:

I hadn't used my Ernest & Rose 'Free Trials' because I really couldn't see how they'd be anything but a hindrance (as a player who plays too much, stacks & does the Derby solo), but I thought that I'd give them a go when I'm on holiday in the summer and too busy drinking fancy drinks in the sun to care!

However, I've had a few R or E Boosters which I had to trash (because if I used them I'd lose the 7 day Free Trial) so I thought I'd bite the bullet & let them loose on the farm.

Well, I set Ernest's levels and he went and pinched stuff I'd already made, cheeky wotsit! Then I went to load my sugar machine and got quite a surprise to see his face beaming out from a bag of sugar, then the dairy, the idiot has loaded cheese! CHEESE?! It's cream time, not CHEESE time! I'm playing, I can load cream!

Then he's on the driveway demanding sugar cane. It was GROWING. Patience Grasshopper, the sugar machine was full bar one slot.

Then I just went back to the farm & my cows and chickens are waiting to be fed. They've never in their little lives had to WAIT for food. If she keeps starving them I'm going to have to report her for animal cruelty - there's FOOD in the barn FGS, I don't care if she uses it, just don't leave them hungry you daft mare! I haven't even looked at the feed mills, I can only begin to imagine what chaos she's creating there.

As far as I can tell it's like having toddlers 'helping'. All very sweet, but actually a pain in the proverbial!

Once the Derby starts, they might both be on Gardening leave.



Oh cripes, now she's moving feed around the farm and staring at me.

It's CREEPY!!

...but I haven't laughed this much in ages. I feel like I've got no control over my farm at all!

QUESTIONS:

1: Rose has a strip of animal feed pictures along the botttom of her 'in stock' screen (she's clearly pinched them from my silo, fine...) so why isn't she feeding the hungry animals!? I though her feeding them was either turned off or optional though? So if it is, why is the feed listed there?

2: How do I choose whether to use their stock or mine? Or do I have to use all mine up first?

Have you adjusted her settings? There are 3 options, to take account of Derby tasks, so you can stop her from feeding if you have a feeding task.

Tap her house - tap her and you should see a cog wheel. Tap that and choose the option.

I have yet to figure out how to use these "helpers" the way I really want them to work. I stack a lot too, but when I need a bit of space to pickup feed or gather from the animals, I often put eggs up for sale. That only makes them shift from their stock back to your barn. Also, I like doing my feeders the way it's been for almost forever - chicken and cow feed on one and pig, sheep and goat on the other. SmallChange, I agree, cheese in the middle of the day?!? Whatever was Ernest thinking?? You only cook cheese at bed time.

I surely hope it doesn't throw your derby into a tizzy. I just don't see myself using this buggers again. Not sure if this old dog can be taught any tricks to using them.

Thank you :) I think the tears of laughter had obscured the cog wheel! I'm not sure I've made the right choice, but hey ho, I'm sure the world won't end!

More of a statement really. I'm skrewed re feeding my pets 'The Myso Way' aren't I?? I just went to feed them, but of course all the farm animals have been stripped of bacon, milk etc.

I stack all machines, all the time, so there's quite an art to collecting products, feed, raw ingredients etc and Rose is oblivious to all of it.

I have pig & cow food in one feeder, chicken feed in the other with goats & sheep at set times. It works for me. God alone knows what Rose will do!

Essentially I think I'm too much of a control freak for their 'help', it just feels 'out of control'. I'm going to embrace the madness until the end of the week (when I'll need to stack properly for the Derby) if I can...we'll see.

Momscar, you can choose to sell your eggs from your barn or theirs from their storage, however, if you use eggs, it will be the helpers eggs first.

I still haven't used my original trial and have been throwing out boosters for R&E. I think I'll keep going with that plan...

I had a good giggle over this... reminiscent of the chaos first created.

I love the free trials and I enjoy the different "system" I have to use when they are hired, but we all farm differently.

Our hood does not even talk about them, but I know 2 hood mates have them hired 24/7.

I understand they are not everyone's cup of tea:smirk:

Thanks Wussypuss, I guess my brain is just wired to my way of playing and don't have time to train R&E to do it right. (My right, that is).
