Some thing you like to do for your shoppers? I like to restock my RSS with different goodies right after a person buys the 1st batch of things so that other people are pleasantly surprised to find the shop filled with goodies and not empty. There have been times where I'll be late into my shopping and am always surprised when I see new items added. I also try to add the same goodies that I put an ad out on. If I'm selling peaches or oranges, I don't put them all out at once, I wait until they are bought then I'll add more so other people get a chance to buy them too. I also try to leave things in my shop for those that wish to come and buy something as a way of thanks for me helping them with their boat or reviving.
Sometimes if I see someone sticking around buying things as I add them, I'll put up something really good it make their day. I know different threads have talked about shoppers before, but I'm hoping this one is slightly different from the others as this one is not talking about anything negative, so please don't be too hard on me lol. I'm trying to come out of my shell and post more as I'd like to become closer to this forum community. :)

first, a distinction - i primarily cater to my hood mates, in game friends and followers, i very rarely advertise unless i need help with a crate, etc.

i like to keep a few 'staples' so i'm a reliable source of these items for my friends - things like bacon, wool and blankets i like to keep stocked. few people sell blankets, so i like to keep them around as a 'thank you' of sorts, and send tom to maintain stock when i don't need anything else. i think the most expensive / premium item in the game is a pretty good 'thank' you, and i restock them a few times a day in small quantities of 1-2 so a few people have a chance at them.

also, i use shopping to somewhat communicate with my in-game friends - if i buy something from their shop, i'm careful to make sure i have some stock available for them, as i find that we have pretty much worked out a system - if one of us buys from the others' shop, we go check out the others' shop too - and they do the same for me in re-stocking.

Almost 3 years playing this game and I still sell quite a bit from my shop.
I like to fill the shop first before advertising.

And yes I feel particularly gratified when I see someone is hanging around waiting for me to place more items. Sure everyone likes to buy the premium items but I have seen the same person waiting patiently for me to place crate after crate of carrots. Or chicken feed. Sometimes I make a game of it to see who will stop first? Sometimes it's me because I have run out.

i always keep veggies and fruit in my shop as a way people can say "hi, I was here" Otherwise, I sell everything at default to visitors to my shop.

I concur with those who had been delighted with the unusual tone of this shopping thread. It may be unusual for something posted in the forums, but I think it embodies the spirit of Hay Day and the reason so many of us love our farms and our farmer friends and neighbors.

Recently, I was wheating for a Derby task. I would load my shop with about 10-14 crates of wheat at 10/1 coin before placing an ad, and then keep filling the "sold" crates as long as the ad ran. It was fun to watch the late-comers snatch up what I loaded after the ad was placed and the original goods were sold out.

I usually load my shop for friends and neighbors, but rather than let Greg or Tom buy something that I know would sell in the paper, I'll put an ad on what hasn't sold (with a few added items) after a reasonable time. I agree that it's nice to have stuff that friends can reliably find in my shop. I always appreciate knowing that certain friends will probably have certain things available. I also have learned from a neighbor that putting goodies in the shop when asking for help is a nice touch.

The "take-away" idea I've gotten from this thread is putting up just a couple items of a type rather than a crate of ten and refilling the crate with the advertised item while the ad lasts. Very fun. I love watching good stuff sell!

I normally just sell whenever my Silo/Barn is full or close to full and I don't need so much of that item. Very nice though that you try and let everyone have something rather than one person get it all as sometimes one person does take everything.

I do have a bunch of folks I've followed or have followed me that, after filling a boat crate with a help, if I see they have an empty crate still and can't flag anymore crates, I post that item in my shop - and many times I've been pleased to see them come and buy it. It's like silent help...or if I'm filling a crate in the paper for a farmer who clearly needs popcorn or bread or berries or something - I put extra in my shop in case they use the last helper link to make it back to my farm. This happens often actually.

Thank you all for being so nice 😊. I'm from MN but live near Memphis. I'm a mom to 3 and HayDay is where I go to when I get a moment to myself. I'm not sure on how to do things yet like quote a certain part of a post and rely with what I want quoted. I'm not a very tech savvy gal lol.
I do leave things in my RSS just for my NH, but I also like to run an ad every now and then. Thank you all again for being so wonderful!

this is a great thread. I also tend to visit anyone who helps me to see if they have anything they are selling to make some money. I never mind paying full price, especially when it is to thank someone for helping my boat/watering my plants. (#JOUP2RVP ~ Phillips Farm if you would like to add me)

I like to have small amounts of things in my RSS for people coming to say thanks for helping,but I can't remember what all the lower levels can buy so usually try to either put sugar or feed up or small bins of wheat.If I'm trying to get someone's attention,as in I'VE GOT SOMETHING YOU NEED FOR YOUR BOAT,PLEASE COME TO MINE!!!, I'll keep buying wheat or change my farm name,now that is fun!!

Welcome aboard the forum, for I too have joined only today despite having a level 49 farm :)
My selling habits vary depending on the products I'm putting up. If I've just done a wheating session, I immediately advertise my first batch then fill up the rest of the slots. When selling other products such as bread, ore, or tool, I put them up one at a time and only advertise on my final product, hoping that more shoppers would have the chance to purchase products which are not commonly seen in the RSS. Sometimes I also put products up for my hood so for example if someone needs 7 carrot juice but I got 5, I message them and sell it to them. It's a pity there isn't a simpler way to notify someone and must be done through the hood notification panel, but I find pleasure in helping others :)

Sometimes, when I'm flipping through the newspaper, I buy expansion material for full price just to put them in my road side shop at default price for my friends.
