I usually attack with 9 drags and 3 lightning spells i usually win but this costs too much elixir and i make no profit even if i upgrade my elixer production so i gotta find a cheaper and nearly as good strategy to attack any ideas?

Giant wizard, mass goblins, and barch are your friends at town hall 7.

For war, I say spend it. For raiding, yes dragons are ridiculously expensive, your elixir will never rise fast enough. If your troops are all up to par on level, a mix of giants, barbs, archers and gobs is good and relatively inexpensive. If you see lots of dead bases, IE full collectors in your league, mass gobs.
