French bistro...oooh, la, la!

Okay, I just did a feed-the-animals task and I'm overloaded with eggs which I would prefer not to dump in the newspaper. (I already did a wheat task and unloaded hundreds of bushels at 1 coin/10, but that's another story--straw hats!)

I was trying to think of something to use up major amounts of eggs and came up with soufflés. So...

How about a French bistro as the next installment of international cuisine on the farm? We've got the pasta kitchen, the sushi bar, and the taco kitchen.

Soufflés, omelettes, crepes and meringues could all use eggs. Soufflés and meringues could use a large number. It's not like the DD would be totally depleted.

It would be especially a propos if this were introduced with the much-requested mushroom log (and truffle-hunting pig!)

Dibs, I love France & pretty much all things French. We'd need a boulangerie & fromagerie too.... & new machines to supply them of course.

Plus, we already have the frogs & snails...

Sacre bleu! I totally forgot about the frogs! I was figuring that it would just be one "kitchen" machine like the Italian and Mexican ones and could serve more or less anything a la Francais. We can add creme brûlée to the list unless they want to serve flan in the taco kitchen. I wish they would add edamame to the sushi bar. I think we could treat those "machines" more as restaurants than a production machine limited to a particular class of items.

It's catch 22 for me. As a stacker & solo Derby player, more machines & less variety on them is easier as I'm more likely to have what I need for a production task. However, as an orchard lover, fewer machines is better! I barely have any Deco out & already I'm like 'New land? What new land?...oh that stuff under the trees?' I know I could create a LOT more space if I chopped down the natives & removed the rocks...but I like them! If only we could move them around!

But practicality aside, I'd love to have a little French corner with machines, Deco, bunting etc. We have the Japanese stuff, I'd like the French stuff! Ooh and a market....

It's nearly summertime & my jaunts across the channel, I can't wait.

Oh my goodness, PLEASE no more egg products! I'm having a hard time getting thru all the items that have eggs as an ingredient, already. Almost all, if not all, of the items in the bakery, pie maker, and cake maker require eggs!

We would need another feedmill just to keep up with the chicken feed!

I like your thinking of a French idea. I'm a Japanese-American, and like the bunch of Japanese stuff, but it would be cool to have other ideas too. With all the pastas starting up (not too many right now, though), an Italian restaurant, Italian decos would be cool. Or if SuperCell doesn't want so many different ethnic restaurants in town, why not call it an International restaurant or something. And change around what's ordered in there or something, just keep it ethnic--sushi, pizza, lasagna, etc.

At this point, may I suggest some food ideas? Age sushi (the other name for this sushi wouldn't spell out right, it kept auto-correcting it, so I just wrote it as age sushi; its not pronounced as the English age, though), ravioli, won ton soup, ...

There are always plenty of eggs for sale in the newspaper. A big part of my reasoning in suggesting food items that use a lot of eggs is that they are plentiful and relatively cheap. The only reason I ever even feed my chickens rather than just buying all my eggs from the DD is that I enjoy watching them go through their antics, and I like getting the drops from them. There are farmers out there who only acquire eggs through the DD and use their feed machines to make feed for the other animals since eggs are always available.

While it can be difficult to keep up with dairy and sugar supplies for the machines you mention, if I am low on eggs, I just go buy some. I only have ten chickens--never even bought the third chicken pen--because I'm not willing to give up the space on the farm for something that I don't need.

I believe that anything that can use up some of the oversupply of eggs in the newspaper is a good thing. Same goes for wheat. That's why I would love to see a couple of straw hats (his and hers) introduced in the UFO hatmaker. We used to see a ton of wool in the DD, but all that wool seems to have gone into red cloches. LOL. Perfect use of resources.

My hatmaker often stands idle. Straw hats is a good idea. Berets too, of course, for wearing to the bistro.
