When should I go to TH10.

Well guys, it's with a heart heavy with ambivalence, one torn between happiness and sadness, that I write this. The long goal is over. I finally did it. I maxed my walls. And a little ways before my lab, defenses, and heroes too.

A few minutes ago I finally finished my goal of all perfectly maxed walls. Look at them shine. It's almost worth the burning sensation I feel in my retinas.

Now here's why that's a problem for me, and the reason I'm making this thread.

I'm an...shall we say, extremely active player. If I don't have a resource sink, it won't be but a few more hours until my resources (but for DE) are completely capped off after I finally, and for the first time in months, set down my 5th builder now that I have no walls left to do.

If I can't constantly spend resources and have to look at full storages 24/7 while all my builders are going, but still having to raid only for DE, I'll go mad.

I still have to get my Teslas up 2 more levels each, do one more level on both X-Bows, and get both Air Sweepers up another two levels. So I'm not quiet defensively maxed yet either. Oh and they aren't defenses, but at some point I should probably do the Dark Spell Factory to 4 and DE Drills to 6. No rush on either really...I raid enough that the drills simply don't matter in the grand scheme of things and the Dark Spell Factory 4 is just the skeleton spell. Which I'm in no hurry to do either...I'll likely do all 3 while the town hall upgrades.

At the same time, both my heroes are down (and have been since 8/8) at 16/16 and going to 17/17. And almost the entirety of my lab is now done.

See, I've only got Barbarians and Archers to 6, Baby Dragon to 2, Minions to 5, and Golems to 3 left. Pekka I'll be doing while the town hall upgrades, since both are 12 days, and it provides an easy outlet for something to run through the upgrade time on my town hall so I have no breaks in the lab, and dragons to 4 still has 8 days in the lab. And obviously I've had absolutely no lab down time at all. It's been running my entire tenure at TH9 so far. And will continue to do so at TH10.

Sidenote : I'm ignoring witches and hog riders. Neither interest me and I won't ever be touching either of them until literally nothing else remains.

So my question is, knowing all this, should I just press the upgrade button now, or should I wait a few more weeks since I still have more than enough things to keep my lab busy for a month or more past the 12 day upgrade time.

If I do wait, I'll be able to go to TH10 with maxed defenses, and offenses, and around 22/22 heroes, taking into account total lab time left and the 12 day wait time to TH10.

If I don't wait, I'll reach TH10 with about 20/20 heroes between starting in about a week, and the 12 day upgrade timer to TH10.

What do you guys think?

And 702,000,000 GG, 730,000,000 EE, and 3,400,000 HH is pretty to look at. Cant wait for a billion. :cool: Should get there by the time I get maxed 11 walls a little ways into TH10.

Extra Info : The moment I get past the Army camps, Spell Factory, And Barracks/Dark Barracks upgrades, and have built the new defenses, I intend to keep my heroes down constantly and never even once use them until 40/40. So regardless of what level my heroes are when I get there, they'll be effectively 0/0 for either 18 to 20 straight weeks.

So what do you guys think? TH10? Yes or No? Wait...or don't wait.

This is why I think cost of walls shouldn't have been reduced. Too many players upgrading walls these days lol.

Anyway back to your question, if you can fill up storages that fast, I'd say jist upgrade barch and poison and then start the th upgrade. 20/20 heroes are fine for th10.

One last thing, is lvl 5 wb max for th9? I can't seem to recall, upgrade that before you even think of pekka.

Yeah, wall breakers are maxed at 5 for TH9's. And they were one of my first upgrades. After Goblins and Giants, they were my 3rd upgrade. I think they get to level 6 at TH10. I'd have to check though.

And thanks. I tried to get it done as fast as I could. So fast I actually finished my walls before I finished everything else, despite doing everything else all the time. Lol. For what it's worth, I would have and did do many of those tiles before the price decrease.

After dragons, which I'm only upgrading to give to war CC's and for war donations as the head of a new clan, I plan to do Baby drags for the same. Then Barbarians and Archers to 6.

Somewhere in there I'm deciding just how much longer I want to wait at TH9 before I head to TH10, since I still have some of everything but walls left to do, so I'm looking for community input on where I should go from here.

Don't ignore any troops. (don't deliberately let your Laboratory stand idle, just because you don't like Witches or Hogs)

Anyhu .. Truely maxed TH9, with 30/30 heroes, all the available troops maxed, all traps maxed, all walls maxed, is a very fun thing to play around with. Push or War .. you will do great in both as you can get close to a 100% success rate against other TH9s.

That said .. it's going to take you another 4-5 months of grinding, to get your heroes maxed. That time is not magically going away, if you move to TH10 now, but by the time you have 30/30 heroes, you'll have maxed building for TH10, and you'll be 4-5 months further along with your Laboratory.

The laboratory will always be your bottle neck, and if you raid for DE exclusively, your heroes will be pretty easy to max. It's a grind, it takes time, but it's not exactly difficult.

My lab isn't idle now and never has been. Not even once since the day I started the game. As I pointed out, I have other upgrades left. I just blazed through the walls so quickly that I finished them around a month-ish before everything else. As I said though, I'm not upgrading hogs and witches at all. But that doesn't mean my lab will be idle. I'll simply upgrade to TH10 during the time Pekkas are upgrading, and the second I hit TH10, start minions to 5 and then immediately Lab to 8. Back to back to back upgrades with absolutely no down time. Easy.

As for hero upgrades, 17-30 is only 13 weeks. That's 3 months, not 4 or 5. I have no down time on those either. And as I pointed out, I'm keeping them down forever until 40/40. I'll be going to and reaching TH10 by the time their 20/20 in about 2 and a half weeks, or around 22/22 in about a month.

I also keep both heroes down at exactly the same time, and that won't change, no matter the level they reach. I'm not a "one hero at a time" guy. I raid enough that cost doesn't factor.

I'm also well aware that the lab is the bottleneck. I wrote a 14+ paragraph essay on it to Sin a few days ago in another thread. Your lab itself takes longer at every town hall level than any other subset of your base combined. I also bring that up in this post during my reasons for both staying a TH9 for a few more weeks before I press the upgrade button, and my reasons for just going. :facepalm:

As for maxing my heroes, I'm not interested in waiting at TH9 to do so. As sin points out and I agree, if your upgrading heroes, their essentially 0/0. There's no difference between a TH10 with 20/20 heroes and a TH10 with 30/30 heroes in this regard. And I'm not waiting an extra 10 weeks to go to TH10 with 30/30 heroes. Instead the only reason it's even an issue is because I still have lab work left that vaguely matters, and about the same amount of time in defenses left to upgrade. So instead of my original plan of heading to TH10 with 20/20 heroes, they'll end up 22/22 when the town hall ticks over if I wait a few extra weeks.

Either way, heroes will still finish more than 6+ months before the lab does with diligent upgrading.

Heroes becoming increasingly important at TH10. I always encourage people to max their heroes first. I have always tended to be a maxer though, to each his own.

I would move to TH10 to work on walls. You get more DE and if you're keeping a hero or both down you aren't warring. Might as well get DE at TH10 for faster heroes and work on important troops. Bowlers, hounds, barch to 7. I currently have heroes going up back to back at TH10 and both are over level 20. I havent used my queen since she was level 1.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. I'm thinking basically the same thing. I may or may not wait another week and a half to get my heroes to 18/18 so they will be 20/20 when I reach TH10, and finish another 3 upgrades by the time the town hall ticks over. This is why I like community input.

It won't be possible to upgrade the heroes at the same time. Max de storage is 200k de (right?) You will have to spend to be able to collect for second hero.

Lol I'm not. Pekkas are the very last upgrade I'll be doing at TH9 from 2 to 3. And It's due to perfect lab time. Pekkas take 12 days to go to 3. Town Hall 9 takes 12 days to go to TH10. By starting the Pekka upgrade at the same moment as I start the Town Hall upgrade, I'll tick over to TH10 at the same instant my lab finishes Pekkas. Then I can start Minions to 5 with DE, as well as the Lab to level 8 upgrade. Once those finish, I can immediately kick off upgrading everything in the new lab tier. With absolutely no down time or breaks at all, and precision timing.

I have my heroes staggered 2 days apart, which will be extended to 3 later. I can easily kick up DE farming since it gets extensively better dead base farming DE at TH10. I'll go from a 2.7K intake with a 1.9K Profit per raid to 4K intake with a 3.1K Profit per raid. Substantially increasing my profit margins. Due to being staggered, I can keep both upgrading 24/7 with no breaks, and still absorb the cost. Even at 200k Per. Having both down and upgrading at the same time doesn't mean having to place both down at exactly the same instant. In this way I'll be able to keep both heroes down at the same level, and going to the same level, at all times without any breaks whatsoever.

Very true. And this is why I'm ignoring Hogs and Witches. Neither are very useful for the levels I'm going too, so I'll be ignoring them forever until literally nothing else remains. Doesn't make any sense to wait on offensive troops I'll never use, so I took them out of the equation when I made this post.
