Followers Question

Does anybody know for sure if SuperCell is going to be adding some type of feature to remove followers? or be able to approve followers?

I'm tired of having a follower that no longer plays. I would think that Supercell would want to remove these because it does take up server resources to load a the shortcut link to someones farm, and to load someone's farm you don't know doesn't play anymore to check their store.

I am also tired of deadbeat followers, where all they do is take take take and they themselves have nothing for sale, not ever!

Im kind of new to Hay Day, so I apologize if I say something stupid here, but, um...what does it cost you to have dead friends or people that buy your stuff? They aren't going to delete idle accounts ever.

Visiting dead accounts? Um... can you say time wasting! Especially when load times are slow from servers!

Additionally, I hate selling to someone that doesn't give back. Especially someone that comes through my store and buys over 30 crates of stuff, sometimes twice a day! I'd rather sell to someone that is going to return the favor of having stuff available for purchase if needed!

So yes, it does matter!!!!

There is a difference in terminology amongst the community.

Some view "trading" as the exchange of products e.g. my brown sugar for your white sugar. Others (I include SC) view trading as the exchange of possessions e.g. my brown sugar for your 32 coins.

Both are correct IMO.

No one can take take take in this game without give give giving coins, which constitutes a trade.

Regarding inactive followers, at some point I hope you'd recognize them by name and simply skip over them opposed to selecting them. I have plenty of them and skip them accordingly.

Welcome to Hay Day and to the forum Spyder. Good to have you. The follower debate has been going on for a while, and there are many good points both for and against. No one's opinion is any more or less important than anyone else's, so please never feel stupid for voicing yours. I undetstand the points for and against this topic and as I myself only have three followers its not an issue with be but what I don't understand is why it is such a big deal to be able to kick a follower if someone wanted to. If I wanted to I can unfriend via facebook and game center and the follower concept in a whole seems a bit like stalking to me :). Although I think I might enjoy a few more stalkers I do agree with being able to mace one if need be to get rid of that stalker. Lol. Really just trying to be kinda funny about the touchy subject :p

Iam, exactly! You can remove a GC "friend". Why not the ability to remove a follower!?!?

Thank you all for your opinions. But the folks at Supercell still haven't answered my question. Is this something possibly in the works?


Also, I can sell to anyone and "trade" for coins.... but I'd rather be able to "trade" (give) someone coins and be able to purchase needed items from their store too. I guess this is a topic closely related to politics and religion....everybody has an opinion and theirs is the correct one.

How do you stop playing this game though? If i suddenly stopped playing Hay Day (unlikely in the near future!) i would just delete it from my IPad which I suspect wouldn't delete it from Hay day itself, so my friends would have my stagnant farm going.

But as I play other games that helps having friends I wouldn't want to be unfriended on GC or Facebook.

Can you delete it from GC?

I am not a GC multigame player. The only reason I added GC friends was for the purpose of having farms to visit; in hopes of items available for purchase and to exchange "!" requests and assistance.

I can see how playing multigame GC it would make deleting them in GC difficult.

I don't have a problem with selling anything but i do understand how frustrating it is to have one or a few followers over use the purchase button especially when you have new folks to the game that you would like to have a fair shot.

I do wish they would change the friends tab for the followers tab as it'd be much better and fairer to choose rather than be forced, just that when someone is camped outside your shop and jumps on anything that isn''t crops it does get frustrating, having said all that for the most part i keep in mind that like any community i couldn't have gotten past level 1 without people selling their goods

Hi there Tweezle. Well, you are correct. Even when you delete your game from your iPad your farm will still remain. All of your followers and GC friends will still be able to see it. I can understand you not wanting to upset your friends. My suggestion for anyone who is contemplating this is to change your farm name to "I Quit Playing" or something related to that. Your friends and followers will know to just skip over your farm or unfollow if they choose to.

I have a few friends that have done this in different variations. One is "taking a break" and another long lost friend who i miss has changed hers to "moved to the city". :D. Although...to be honest...i still check their farms anyway. ;) Wishful thinking i guess. :)

I have a question that is sort of a twist on this thread.

When I first started playing (currently on Lvl 32), I clicked on the "follow" tab when I visited someone's farm and thought I'd like to follow them. I think I only did that about 3 times...I *think*... I hadn't done that for a while and then, maybe 3-5 levels ago, I decided to try to follow someone again, but I now get a message..."Cannot follow the farm! All slots in use." What does that mean?

If I recall correctly, when following a farm, it includes them in your friends. If I have the ability to have many, many more friends, why can't I continue to follow more farms? :(

You may only follow 5 farms. To follow a new one you need to "unfollow" a current one, just click the same place while on their farm.

Thank you for that explanation, however, I don't even recall which farms I'm following and which were friend requests through GC...LOL!

The ones you followed will be in blue on your friends bar. The GC friends will be in gold.

So that's what those different colors mean! LOL! Thank you for that explanation.

I also noticed that it seemed those I followed still have that little icon at the sign naming their farm, which is what I would click on to unfollow. ;)

For as long as I play this game, I will never understand why anyone cares who buys off their RSS. And how often.

i mean you still get the coins no matter who buys it, right?

I rarely sell hard to find items. Not because I don't want to, but because I have such a hard time making what I need for truck orders and boat orders. But I do make chicken and cow feed non-stop. And I put that on sale any where from 8 - 12 times a day and it flys off the shelf.

Matter of fact, I couldn't even tell you who is buying it because I don't have the sort of memory that keeps track of the names who buys from me.

Also, I sell items for just a little over default price.

If it bothers you so much to have people buy off your RSS then why not save it for trades instead? That way you can pick and choose who buys your stuff.

i will admit, a part of me is a little annoyed right now.

I had two "friends" who sold some good stuff. Since I'm on HD almost 24/7, I frequent my friends RSS often looking for those items that take time to make to help me make TO and BO. And I noticed today that they are no longer on my friends bar. So they must of unfriended me.

I never ask for help with cream or sugar.

i help with boats and water plants often.

and my barn is only at 600 so I can't stockpile too many items at once.

So I feel sad I was punished for just buying items.

For the record, when I do get to the point in the game when I can afford to sell those precious items, I will not care who buys them or how often.
