as mentioned, its not a video.

This is not ruled out.

The video software comment is correct, and the best option at the moment, but because Clash of Clans is the software generating the video in the first place, they could add a feature to save it, if they wanted to. It isn't the case that the software creating the graphics can't save the graphics they create.Quote:

* Add a way to export battle replays to photo roll or youtube natively
* Add a rewind button to the replays
The comments about requiring the same version of the game to execute the replay is exactly why people want the ability to save replays to their camera roll: it's permanent. Once you have a saved copy of the video, you could do whatever you want with it, such as putting it on YouTube, sharing it with your clan mates after a Supercell update destroys the in-game replay, etc.
It would be VERY interesting if Supercell introduced a way to replay an attack that was produced from any version of the game (i.e., go back in time to previous versions/algorithms), but the game app itself is already quite large and I have a feeling that this would be prohibitively expensive when it comes to size. Perhaps they could offer it as a standalone app. Regardless, I think what people are requesting in this case is a simple video recording of the game's output saved to their device, which would not be impossible to accomplish.
@rwelshjr: If they can do 2x and 4x, then they can do 0.5x, regardless whether it is a video or not.
i believe the request I spoke to was -0.5x replaying backwards is harder.
sure they could build video software into the app but thats not a small insertion, the app would swell a lot in size for but a single feature that not everyone would use.
i do think they could blow away the replays less often. A lot of their updates would have no bearing on the replays if they left them be. But rather than doing that analysis on each release and tailoring what they do to fit what the release does really they just have it as a standard practice to delete all.
speaking for myself, once I have finished an attack my interest is on to my next one Im not that into saving the movie. Once in a while I might post one, but after very little time its usefulness is gone. Thats why I never installed any of those apps for longer term recording.
@rwelshjr: I misunderstood you about the 0.5/-0.5; my mistake. When I saw the post for "rewind or 1/2 speed," I interpreted it as rewind or +0.5 speed. As for the other: Display Recorder on iPhone as an example is 2.4MB. That is roughly 2.7% the size of the Clash of Clans app. Not a large swelling in size, and I venture to guess that the size of the code required to be added to the CoC app would be much smaller, since it doesn't need to be it's own application. Making a video is actually quite efficient on today's modern devices, as most of the work is done at the hardware level. Plus as I said, the app already has to produce the graphics which are to be rendered; saving those rendered frames as a video that is supported by the hardware encoders would be almost no effort at all. While watching a replay, the software could save a temporary copy of it, and present a "Save to Camera Roll" button next to the Replay button at the end. If you don't click that button, the temporary replay gets deleted/overwritten next time you watch a replay.
There's no reason to get salty. I certainly did not say that the Supercell developers don't know anything. I merely demonstrated that the argument that it would add too much size is unlikely. I also mentioned that saving already rendered graphics is fairly simple. This is something I know from my own personal experience in programming.
Supercell has a lot on their plate, and they have to pick and choose what features get implemented. I understand that. The fact that this suggestion is already on the list makes me happy. I just wanted to add my vote.
